Conversation with a hater

WoW is full of people who have no seeming control over themselves, and they spew the most ridiculous things in whisper, MBing or not. Nerd rage is rampant.

Back in BC, I caught the PvP bug, badly, on my rogue. It was all I did, and I was horrible at it, in the beginning, I had virtually ignored PvP except some dabbling when Warsong Gulch was originally released, and some forays into the first gen AV epic battles.

So, there I was, in horrible gear, dying a lot, killing some, having a BLAST. I was learning the power of rogues - it's purely psy ops. The only thing that can get a group running around scared is "Rogue!" So I played that up and started learning how to sneak into spots I shouldn't be in.

So I got into it with a horde player in av, another rogue, wearing Season gear. He was that annoying undead mace rogue that jumps around like a flea on crack, too. I was'nt that good, but I like a good fight, and we went at it several times - and neither getting the kill because other players would come up and it would just get into the usual route. I finally caught him down near the bottom of the map, in stealth - he put up a fight but I got him down and got the HK, and for some reason, I /loled at him. I, as a rule, don't play those games - I was just psyched at the kill. It was one of the first times I'd taken out another rogue, and he had clearly more superior gear than I did.

So the match ends, and I'm waiting in queu for the next bg, and I start get the nastiest whispers from a character that was <my name>suxdix, or something completely childish like that. It was nothing but "You suck, you don't lol at me in MY bg, gtfo out of my game, you suck, your gear sucks, you're bad", etc... Just a whole wall of pink text.

I laugh, thing about it, and sent him this:

"Yeah, I do suck, I've only been doing PvP for a few weeks, I don't have any gear, and guess what? I * still* kicked your butt. Enjoy your ban, reported, pal."

No answer. Tried to /whisper, no such character exists.

haven't had hate in ages - I think we're so well known now.

Had a funny experience yesterday doing the neutralise daily in icecrown, I'm on a pve realm and this ally is standing next to me as I start the event and he starts to drag mobs over to my totems to annoy me, but it's ok I just ignored them, then he go kites the big boss mob over which I think is an elite, so I see this mob coming over and think "just get on with your life loser" and he kites the boss right into my totem farm. Well I just got rid of all my totems and went to the other side of the cauldron and continued the event while the boss beats on this ally till he's dead he got a 5xKEK from me.

tells i get a lot of the time are:

"that must cost you a lot of money?" - to which i reply, no more than a night out (you can certainly tell the kids from adults on the responses back from this one)

and

"how come they all have the same gear?" - talk about stating the obvious, but they don't seem to get this one... "hello, they've all run the same quests and picked the same rewards" (common sense is really lacking some times)

generally most people are on the positive side, I can't remember the last time i had a negative tell.

yeah - it's really changed over the last 18 months, I used to get a lot of hate and now it's either people who are genuinely interested in what I'm doing and how or I just get comments like 'Awesome' - Someone the other day even nicely warned me that it would be prudent not to walk around Dal as I might get reported lol.

I'm currently boxing my first 5 shaman to 80, currently at 65 and was in AV and ran into a nice person who multiboxed also, but wasn't on the toon on the opposing faction, usually it's all very positive, I felt a little rude I didn't have more time to chat but as I'm still learning the ropes but only once or twice people consider I have 'no-life' for being able to spend so much on WOW.

I even macroed a couple of replies to haters.


This is the all times best reply that makes haters go away in no time:
"Auto respond message: You are whispering to a daltonic person that cannot see pink letters. Please try whispering in other color so I can see what you say. Thank you." --> Once even replied it to a GM. The guy freaked Just macro it and hit it every time you get a hate whisper. I use this one when I am questing or doing something and don't want to argue or giggle the hater.

These are my other replies just for fun:

"Yeah, you are right. Now, welcome to my ignore list" --> followed by /ignore

"Sorry if this is disturbing you, the jail psychologist told me to find another hobby instead of raping and killing other men with my bare hands." --> At this time that person stops whispering me or just replies with a "WTF???".

"How much gold do you have?" They usually reply something and then I say "Reported for gold selling!" --> most people just freak at this.

"It's a military artificial intelligence software experiment. Once we perfect it to play computer games we will install it on all missile launchers so they can kill people more efficiently" --> after that the conversation degenerates to a complete nonsense where you can even tell that person that the transfeormers movie was for real and the CIA is just financing sci-fi movies to prepare the world for the upcoming alien invasion. I really love to use this one because it just melts the two brain cells most haters have.
