Default Win 7 (64-bit) & Keyclone problems? **edit** FIXED - user problem :) at least the first one

Having 2 issues that I wonder if anyone has experienced/solved.

I used to multibox a bit with Win-XP (32-bit) and Keyclone (1.9g I belive). I did the RAF thing up to level 60 and really enjoyed it. But I left my trio parked in Shat at level 60 back in May and I started raiding with my guild full time. Now the summer slow-down is in full effect so I figured I'd pull my trio out of retirement and see what I could do. But now I'm having two issues. I'm not sure if this is related, but a couple of weeks ago I bought a new hard drive, and installed the Win7 (64-bit) release candidate on my gaming PC. After the install I reinstalled my old hard drive (drive E and copied my wow clients over.

I figured out the "run as administrator" thing for win 7 (I hear Vista is the same way). That at least allowed keyclone to save my settings and to open 3 wow clients - but it seems like I have maximiser messed up somehow. I have 3 seperate WoW installs (all on the same hard drive for now, but I'll move 1 or 2 to the 2nd hard drive soon.) Keyclone will open 3 wow windows, but they all stay in windowed mode, stacked on top of each other - not arranged as I'd like (large main window on left, 2 smaller windows on top of each other on the right). They open with the settings that I have on that wow client - something isn't getting passed correctly. Keyclone is correctly passing keystrokes to all 3 clients - the problem appears to be isolated to the maximiser.

I've tried setting it up both with and without using the wizard - but both give me the same result. I went back and tried using 1.9g (instead of 1.9i) - but I get the same results. Anyone else have a similar issue?

The 2nd issue I get is a WoW error when I have my WOLK install not set to windowed mode and I launch it with keyclone. I get a pop-up that says - "World of Warcraft was unable to start up 3D acceleration. Please make sure DirectX 9.0c is installed and your video driver are up-to-date." Win7 installs a higher version of DirectX by default, and I just updated my nVidia driver today. The program works fine when I run it seperately from keyclone, but when I load it with keyclone I get the error. When I set it to windowed mode I don't get this error. I also never get this error with my two TBC installs - just the WOLK install. I'm lost, but I have work around for that so It may not be important.

Your first issue sounds like you havn't quite setup Maximizer fully. Have you named eached region of the screen and in your commands asked each WoW to load in a different region?

yeah - for a basic setup there's not much too it, but maybe I'm missing something. I have a 28" WUXGA monitor (1920x1200) and I'm triple boxing on my 1 PC.

I started by making my maximiser layout.
region1 = 1280x1200 starting at 0,0. region2 = 640x600 starting at 1280,0. region3 = 640x600 starting at 1280,600. I check the block for "enable maximiser", set my PiP fo F9 for region1, F10 for region2, and F11 for region3. I set them all to a resolution of 1-to-1, and they're all on \\.\DISPLAY1 (the only option on the drop down box).

    then on the command editor section I made 3 commands (wow1 = region1, wow2 = region2, wow3 = region3). They are all comming from C:\World of Warcraft (x)\:Launcher.exe (where x = 1, 2 or 3).

then on the general tab I check "auto-add windows titled" and "world of warcraft" is typed in and the "exact match" box is checked. Toward the bottom, "startup command" is checked and I've typed in "wow1;wow2;wow3".

The only other thing I've touched is the do-no-pass tab where I've entered "W A S D NUMLOCK and SLASH"

When I launch keyclone (set to always run as administrator) I get my 3 wow programs to launch - and keyclone recognizes 3 titles of "World of Warcraft". When I type in one screen it passes the keystrokes to the windows behind the top one - but all 3 windows stay stacked on top of each other. I played with the WoW video settings and set them all to windowed and I made them all have a different resolution - 1440x900, 1280x768, 800x600 - just so I can tell that I have 3 distinct programs open at once.

Not sure what else to do from here. ?(

***as a side note I see that on the command editor tab the "wow: username" box is greyed out now and the field is blank - along with teh "wow: maxfpsbk" and the "maxfps" boxes. I know I used to be able to use those as well. hmmm...

    Default Fixed!!!

OK, I messed it up. I don't really want to reply to my own post - but maybe this will make it more clear to others if they get the same issue.

Been re-reading the forums for like 6 hours and I stumbeld across my answer in a post from 2008. I was pointed to the Launcer.exe now WoW.exe in each of my commands. Not sure why that affects anything, but obviously it does. I changed them all and now it appears to open correctly. I'll do some more playing with the 2nd problem tomorrow.

Launcher.exe opens the windows where u see the news and then must press the "Play" button down right in order to start wow.
Wow.exe is the location where that "Play" button find and execute when u press it. Now I believe I helped you understand how that affects anything
    good day!
Surely it's no coincidence that the word "listen" is an anagram of the word "silent"!

Nice necro, this thread is over one year old.

the launcher is not the game. you want to select the game program... wow.exe

when it starts up, keyclone will grab the main window and use it to receive/post keys to/from. it will also put that window into the specified region in the maximizer layout
