Resto Shaman macro.

Is.....Is there a way, to macro a key, which is repeatedly spammed, to refresh a Heal Over Time, ONLY....when the HOT drop off the target?

My example.

Running with a ele sham & warlock crew. Both the ele's and the lock have spammable cast macros. Yep, bound to the same key...just mash it and they dps...

I was hoping, there was a way, that on the resto sham, I could use the same key, to cast Riptide. However, when repeatedly spammed, the riptide spell will refresh every six seconds.
This wastes a heap of mana of course and you are only getting about 33% of the spell....

So is there a way that I can make a macro:

/cast Riptide
(then blank out the key so it cannot be used for 14 seconds) Kind of on its own global cooldown.
Or even a castsequence that has a 14 seconds gap between casts.

Is this possible? or am I pipedreaming?

You can try a /click macro, perhaps. Or you can use something like PAB to track your cooldowns. But there is no way for a macro to judge an if/then condition for buffs or the like.

I daresay it is difficult for me to describe what I need, since my set up is kinda unique.

I don't need the macro to do anything, check conditions, /if....anything like that.

All I need is for it to deactivate for an amount of time after its initial keypress.

So keypress 1<---14seconds---->Keypress2

SO, while I spam the same key, the macro will not activate until that time is up...

Use the null placements to create empty casts as listed in the click macro thread I listed or manually watch the time. WoW does not allow any timers or delays in macros.

And there we have it.
Lets me put that on my spam key....if I stop dps...it resets in 3 seconds...

Lets me latently keep riptide up, almost to the second, while I sweat through the dps spam.

Hugely mana efficient over what I was doing though....effectively saves me 1400mana every 12 seconds on the shamadama.
