Default Grounding totem - spell reflect stealth nerf on PTR

Grounding totems no longer absorb reflected spells on the PTR. not sure if this is a bug or working as intended, but it sure hurt to have 5x lava burst reflected back onto me

I noticed this in heroics and arenas.... i was hoping nobody would say anything.

Basically... anytime you had grounding up... anything you cast would not be reflected back at you. It would "be grounded".. the hax part was - the groundings would never be consumed by this effect.

I can see how that is an appropriate fix, except that spell reflect is only supposed to reflect a single spell. If they also fix that (so only 1 of the 5 spells gets turned back) then I think it is fine.

Spell reflect, just like AMZ from dks are both so broken on a basic level, they would have to scrap the whole spell and start over... which they won't. So continue enjoying 4x thunderstorm reflects, 4x lava burst reflects, and 50k dmg absorb from an 11k aoe shield.... all because they landed within the same .5 second window.

I may have to look at the numbers, but I don't think AMZ and AMS on DKs is absorbing multiple spells that are cast simultaneously, like grounding totems and spell reflect.

In AB earlier, I instagibbed a premade DK that was standing inside AMZ with magic shell up at the same time. Did it three separate times, she just exploded every time.

I do know that I'm getting LvB and CL reflected right back onto all 5 of my PTR shaman, with no grounding totems absorbed or consumed.

I think it makes sense for the groundings to be consumed by a reflect, but it nonsense to have them not do anything.

Likewise, I'd like to see grounding totems only absorb a single spell from a single target, regardless of the timing. It seems this should be possible in the code, considering multiple spells landing at the same instant either came from different targets or are different spells, as the GCD and spell cooldowns prevent 2 of the exact same spell from being cast and landing at the same instant.

Of course, I'm not one of the devs, this may fall under the category of impossible situations, like vanish being broken because an attack hit at the same instant, or divine shield being mass dispelled as it is cast. If that's the case, it's "not a bug"

passive dmg spells like lightningshield can also be reflected
    very funny in a duell
me and the warrior were at low hp, no instant cast was rdy so i rebuffed my lightningshield, he activated spellreflect and make an autohit with his lvl 15 1hand weapon
    selfowned by my lightningshield

The solution here is to fire off a low damage spell before blasting the warrior with a full nuke. Rank 1 LB would do the trick. Mages do this often to absorb a grounding totem or spell reflect. If Blizz won't fix the problem, work around it.

If we could move while we fired off the lvl1 LB/Icelance that would be nice. The fact that we have to stand still sucks. Has anyone reported this as a bug? Maybe asking if it is working as intended....

Um... thanks but I realize this. Im not blindly firing away into an existing AMZ, I've blown the EM cooldown+flameshock, waited the .5sec for gcd, and already sending off the LvBs when the AMZ goes up. Happens very often in the zerg of arena and theres no way to reliably avoid it.

@heyaz, yes I'm sure. Many times I can remember throwing up flameshock+EM... and hitting the LvBs right as the AMZ shows up, unbuffed ret pally/warrior etc health doesnt move. (My LvBs = 8k each against pvp targets in arena).

@Fur QQ.. or discussion?... and ya of course most people will never notice this mechanic hence why I said they'll never touch it. Reflecting TS I do feel is unbalanced and fixable but meh w/e
