Default Splitting and recombining individual characters within a group for solo play:

I have a variety of classes now, and it would be nice to be able to conveniently switch them between their multiboxing/pve/pvp roles. Currently this is an annoying and burdomesome process (primarily rebidinding the movement/function related keys). I'm considering getting a macro-based device (n52te, g13, probably a wolfclaw thing) to make this transition easier (I can use one for boxing and one for solo play - although I'm particularly anal about tactical feedback), I suppose with a very liberal use of the do-not-pass filter in keyclone you could similarly set something up though. Is there any easier/better way to accomplish this? What do you use?
    Acc1|Acc2 |Acc3 |Acc4 |Acc5
    Dru |Sham|Sham|Sham|Sham 80,79 (ret),79 (ret),79 (ret),80
    |War|DK |Rog|Pal ------- 80
    |Mage |Priest| Lock |Hunt-------
    60
Level 1-60->Can gift 29 levels (max, even for 80)
    Level below group to 31.99
    Gift to 60.99

I am actually dreading this as well once I get all my characters leveled that I want... trying to reset up for heroic runs of mixed groups is going to require alot of .. fun

It isn't that bad, you can load profiles of keybinds into bt4/macaroon or whatever you use. The biggest thing is to turn off server-side storage of keybindings. You can then use a different install (or however you do this) if you wish. It does however, get VERY OLD VERY QUICKLY - to the point where I don't even bother to do it often enough. If I could get it simplified I would be very happy.

    /console synchronizeSettings 0
to disable serverside storage of keybindings

From there I have to rebind WASD as I use them for movement when playing, and they are /follow macros when boxing.

It would also be nice to have a more convenient location for /assist /interact functions (everything remotely usable is keybound).

    edit:

I suppose you could set up a different follow button, and squelch WASD via turning on do-not-pass in keyclone (assuming you use keyclone).

    ^^ this

With some creative use of the DNP list you should be able to get things setup so that you can play any of the toons independently with very minor tweaks (for me it involves moving the "setFocus/Follow" macro off the hotbar and thats it)

All my characters in all my groups have the exact same keybinds. Moreover, in each group, the same types of actions are always set at the same place, i.e. the mean DPS macro is always on the same key, the "pull" macro is always on the same key, main heals are always on the same key, etc ... This all makes switching characters really easy.

For instance, I am currently using my PVE group (Pala + 4 x Shaman) to run the hunters from my PVP group (Druid + 4 x Hunter) through Heroic Utgarde Keep (for the epic crossbow, still two to go). I just swap one Shaman for one Hunter. All it take is defining the new group in Jamba, press "Push to characters", and off we go !
