Umm...Hell no it's not. Paladins have pursuit of justice, repentance, Avenger's sheild, HoJ, Cleanse, BoF, Divine Shield, and I pretty sure I'm missing a couple of others.

It's very rare that some one can actually get distant on my pally team in BG's. I haven't played Arena with them which may be a different story with a really well organized team with tons of CC. Even then your burst with 5x paladins is so high that you could probably just mount up and run right into the middle of them right off the bat and take down a couple before they could really CC ya. Again I haven't done arena with my team so this is just theory.
Wasnt talking so much about catching another player but more on the side of getting your slaves into melee range as they normaly would be following your main.

Any hints?
Ah, well yea what Multibocks pretty much said. Players don't act in the same way mobs do so you don't really have to worry about players, melee players anyways, going off to this side or that and getting out of range on your followers while still in range of your main, just takes a little practice. Also Interact with target works on players if you're just having a heck of a time.

However all that being said, not much is going to live through 1xHoJ, 5x JoCom crits, 5x CS, 5x Autoswings+ a few SoCom procs, which all can occur in a matter of 3-4 seconds. This assuming of course you're playing an all paladin team.
