Indeed, nothing new, but nicelly presented.

My advice : Move away from keyboard moving, and use something like a Logitech G13 with a thumbstick for movement. And by all means, turn with mouse, not keyboard.
    "bangs head on keyboard"

I'm guilty of keyboard moving and turning...I've been doing it since I started playing wow back in '04. My buddies have always said that's why I suck at pvp. I just haven't been able to kick the habit of using the keyboard to move.

But my slaves just /follow me...so I don't have to send movement keys to them at all.
I'm useless at PVP, which maybe explains this question.

Why is mouse movement better in PVP? - sorry if this is a stupid question.

mouse movement is always better because it is faster. also you are limited with the keyboard to 6-8 directions but not with the mouse. Try it and you will become a believer. Also clicking is slower than pressing keys, but not as much difference there

Mouse movement also leaves your hands free {free-er?} for on the move casting and allows you to make use of the mouse buttons for casting.

I do use the arrow keys for occasional movement, but mostly just for entering an instance en mass or those occasions where I need to strafe out of pools of death and pain.

You know keyboard turning wouldnt be so bad if it actually turned you 360 in less than 10mins. They should give casters an instant 180 click so I dont have to use that godawful click to move and interact with target.

Yea I understand that a lot of people hate to keyboard turn in PvP, but with the multiboxers I intended it more for kiting not for turning and attacking. Its more for getting nice subtle curves in your strafing then to turn around and fire.

And using the arrow keys is still very productive in PvP, you NEED strafe if you are any kind of caster or ranged DPS, trust me I know I'm currently rated 2000 in 3v3 arena with a mage lol.

And sqeaky4100 the song is eurodancer by dj mangoo, I put it in to draw your attention away from the static in the background.

    Thx for the responds guys!

Out of curiousity, are you solo boxing that 2k team or multiboxing? I'm curious if other 2k+ rated multiboxing teams use strafe. I was under the impression (from watching videos) that 5-man multiboxing teams choose where they make their stand and there is relatively little movement while the nuke fest commences. I strafe all the time with my main, but other than getting out of a PvE spell that is hurting my slaves I never strafe with them.

I think that using keybinds for your abilities is faster than accessing them with the mouse (once you're used to them, anyway) and moving with the mouse allows you to turn and react much quicker than using the keyboard. With reaction time being a big part of PvP, anything that makes it more efficient is better. Some players swear by it for PvE as well, for the same reason-- quicker reactions, plus you spend more time looking at the situation going on around you instead of worrying about locating your mouse and making sure it's near your buttons.

I still use the keyboard to turn and move, and the mouse for some button clicks. Problems with my hands mean that the less time I spend clicking a mouse button (or even just holding it down), the less pain I have to deal with later on. But try mouse movement for just a few minutes and you can quickly see how much better it is, especially for doing 180 degree turns insanely fast.

Owltoid, I have a 2k with a single Mage. But yea Shammies may be able to pull off staying still, but I know that will not work on my hunters, they need to be able to kite.
