Mages in 5v5 possible?
I'll be honest in that I don't have alot of WoTLK arena, most pvp done is in bg and world. Wanted some info on 4mage + heal combo. I dont plan on winning at first and my gear is teh crap, but would like some input from boxers who've played arena.

1. Will Having 1 healer do much? or should I go all dps?
2. Should I learn to cc? Honestly in BG's I just blow stuff up
3. Any tips for new boxer's in arena? ie watch out for xxx combo
4. LoS... will it be my downfall?
5. Would it be smarter to 4man, with another human partner?

If i can get any mage specific tips it would help, they are in some deadly + titan forge around 300 resil. I'll keep gearing and start sometime this week, wish me luck!

biggest shock to new arena boxers - welcome to aoe EVERYTHING. There will be so much crap flying around your screen, so much cc on your entire team, and so much group damage that it's tough to even figure out what's going on. Be prepared to spend 100 games trying to make sense of what the hell happened to pvp

I dunno, 5 mages invis and then all pop out 3 copies. Will be tough for the other team to CC you. However if you dont win in the first 15secs.... you are done!

I read somewhere that when you turn off NPC names you can see the real caster.

Running 5 mages will be tough, Rogue will just pop in and cast Fan of Knives all will be dead in split second since you're wearing cloth.

Who knows maybe when you mastered CC then it will be a different story since you can sheep all of them while you killl them 1 by 1

Sure enough, the few games played Fok cuts my limbs off or whirlwind wars knock my head off. Sure it will get a little better with practice, but I imagine my mages would have to outgear them alot to get anyone down. Survive > Dps seems to be the name of the game as immunity class's rofl stomp me. I'll keep it up for teh loss's or lucky wins! :thumbsup:

PS. Yes I had also hoped that the mirror images would cause chaos factor, a little time even. I didnt take into account that they only have >3k hp. Almost any aoe blows them away. :thumbdown: Probably very enjoyable on their part

Five mages will get zerged in seconds. You need some form of self heal to deal with the aoe zerg fest that is arenas these days.

Just my opinion of course.


FYI I'm aware of mages self healing with evocation :P
