Why don't you just go all the way to boss and pull him to entrance? It aggros all the mobs and it's a lot easier.
Hmm.. I think couple of times that i tried this it didn't agro mobs at the courtyard, at least not all of them. Also since Whitemane is too lazy to run to the entrance, you won't get to kill her, you just stay in combat until you run out.

EDIT: Tested this again. After pulling Mograine to the entrance and killing them, there were still 40 mobs left. And you never get to actually kill the boss. Not good. I will stick to my old tactics.
