    Default Wowmatrix alternative?

Wowmatrix was great for keeping my add ons up to date. Recently curse and wowinterface (think thats the name) have blocked wowmatrix from downloading addons. This would explain why I have many errors with my guys. Is there an alternative solution to wowmatrix? I dont want to download everything manually like I did before. That was a total pain in the asshole.

I've been using the Curse client for months now, and it's fine.

Being a naturally suspicious person, I did uninstall the "Curse Profiler" add-on that it installed for me, but other than that it "just works".

I just disabled that addon inside wow. That way it doesn't matter if its installed, it still won't be able to do anything.
After using the trial periodn of the premium membership of the curse updater I was happy enough with it that I decided to pay for a year of it.

I read an article a while back where someone basically ran into the same problem. What she did was sign up for update emails for all her installed mods on curse and wowinterface.com. That way, she only bothers with updating them when they do a major version bump or the update email specifically notes it is a bugfix. Otherwise, she just plays. :P

Yeah, I don't trust most installers, outside of the old WoWAce Updater. Once that died, I just added all the mods I installed to the Favorites section @ Curse and updated whatever changed on Tuesdays during downtime {unless there was a patch, then I waited until Wednesday}. I ran a lot of mods and there was rarely a point in time where I had to update more than 1 or 2 mods a week.

Me too. As I said, the Curse client just works. I've had zero issues with it

I just stick with the Curse installer. I don't bother with any others anymore either. Just be careful when updating your addons with it that you don't hit 'Reinstall' by mistake. I think when you do that it wipes out the old files, like the ones with the settings in-game such as Bartender and you'll have to reconfigure them. Not sure if that's what happened to mine one time or I did something else to cause it. But I watch how I update them now and just run the client every other day to once a week when I think about it. Unless a major patch has been released by WoW, the only things that it updates are QuestHelper, Bagnon, and Cartographer. I've noticed the Curse Profiler addon it installed after it went to a Free/Paid-per-year service, so I just keep it disabled in each client to cut down on the memory. And it's utterly useless to run anyway. As far as addons not supplied on Curse.com, just bookmark their sites and check each week for updates. Might wanna make sure their addons are actually allowed by Blizzard before you run them. I stick to Curse for all mine. Only one I use that they don't offer is Jamba now.

I am using both CurseClient and MMOUI Minion, I like the way Minion works and the fact that you don't have to pay for it to utilize all the features. It's still in beta, so it's less functional if you got more than 1 wow folder, but it got alot more addons than CurseClient. That also goes the other way around, CurseClient has a FEW addons, which isn't in Minion. If you want to read more about Minion, which is developed by wowinterface.com, you can read it here:

    http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=23276
    http://minion.mmoui.com/

The plan is to make modules for the updater, so UI sites can work together and get one working minion.

It'll actually randomly reinstall that piece of shit. I wrote a .bat file that deletes the profiler every time I start wow. lol
There's an option somewhere that will switch off that reinstallation. I was getting annoyed with it reinstalling itself too, but since I found that option, it has stayed uninstalled. Have a dig around in the global settings and per-game settings. It's there somewhere.
