    Default Eve-Online keyclone - keyboard and mouse broadcasting

    I have seen a person in eve using 5 drakes that all followed each other and all fired missles at the sametime, etc. I would like to be able to do this in eve for pvp purposes. Currently using keyclone I have been able to get keyboard commands to transfer between clients but I would also like mouse broadcasts to be sent between client without me having to switch between client windows. Is there anyone here who can help me?

    This is CCP's stance on multiboxing, therefore it is our (dual-boxing.com's stance) on MBing in EvE Online.

    The first response I recieved stated multi-boxing is not allowed :
    Quoted

    The following 2 EULA articles are considered to apply to this:

    "You may not use your own or third-party software to modify any content appearing within the Game environment or change how the Game is played."

    "You may not use macros or other stored rapid keystrokes or other patterns of play that facilitate acquisition of items, currency, objects, character attributes, rank or status at an accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play. You may not rewrite or modify the user interface or otherwise manipulate data in any way to acquire items, currency, objects, character attributes or beneficial actions not actually acquired or achieved in the Game."

    More specifically regarding your questions:

    1: We do not allow this I'm afraid. {Original question "Do you allow Hardware multi-boxing?"}
    2: We also do not allow this. {Original question "Do you allow Software multi-boxing?"}

    3 and 4, are not possible due to multi-boxing not being allowed. {Original questions "practice for distinguishing multi-boxing from botting" and "do you have any fair play clauses".}
    This was called out already as bad information. My followup question pointed out the "Power of 2" program as a counter and I recieved the following :

    Quoted

    You are welcome to use multiple accounts at the same time, no matter how many accounts you are using.

    What we understood you were asking with regards to multiboxing, was controlling all of those account with a single keystroke program or mouse click copy program.

    To make it more clear: You may use as many accounts as you wish at the same time, however you may not use a program to control more then 1 account at the same time with the same keystrokes/mouse, you will need to actually switch between the windows to control them.
    Please be aware, I asked that my ticket be escallated and it was not. The same person gave me both answers.

    So multiboxing EVE using any form of keyboard or mouse multiplexer - hardware or software - is prohibited?

    Wow.

    Still, at least we know where things stand.

    Shame really, though.

    I started getting into EVE at the weekend and am thoroughly enjoying it. I wasn't boxing though (I like to learn SOMETHING about a game before I start trying to box it, unlike some people around here...).

    I'm going to open a second account anyway. I just won't box them in the traditional sense. One will be what was traditionally known as a "mule" to supply my main character.

    Mining, for example, seems to be pretty much an AFK activity from what I've seen so far, so there's some benefit to having the two online at the same time even if they can't reasonably help each other in combat without some frenetic clicking.

    I was running missions on 4 guys using no broadcasting... eve is a very slow game, you should be fine.

    As for AFK mining... the better your mining skills become, the more of a hassle this will be. (because you fill your hold more quickly).

    GOod luck!
    Currently running 10 miners in Eve Online.

    So far, so good. Definitely a thinking man's game, which suits me fine. I can still play WoW when I just want to turn my brain off completely

    Re-reading the above CSR quote, I note that they specifically talk about software boxing not being allowed in any form. When I think of it, I'll raise an in-game petition to see if they allow hardware boxing - that could be fun.
