Anyone get the werewolf hunter pet?

I have tried and tried to get the werewolf pet, but between gankings and bad timing I have had no luck. Anyone here get it yet?

i think one of the raiders in in the raidguild i am in have gotten it. saw a screenshot of the ugly dwarf

lol...Blizzard really ought to just leave us our fun pets (like this one and the ghost wolf). So what if it wasn't intended to have this mechanic after taming. It's like they're using any excuse they can find to take away fun stuff that isn't exactly easy to get anyway. :P

heh nice timing, i just got my worgen pet about 2 hours ago

did it solo with my surv hunter. just drop him to about 60% HP wyvern sting, wait till about 13 sec duration then start taming. took me about 4-5 attempts to get it right.

What am I looking for? The pet taming to finish right as he transforms? Or a few secs after he transforms? Or before transform?

I saw a few people do it successfully, most not. We were camping the area for awhile (with 4x 5 boxers), but then realized most of the horde was failing at taming anyway.

Damn. My hunter started Northrend in the Fjord so has had that quest completed for AGES.

S'okay, I like my trio of pets. I have:
* RottenEgg the tiger from STV (My hunter's name is Lastonethere <wink> )
* EpicMount one of the wolves from Ramparts, looks just like my orc hunter's epic mount lol. Get lots of comments on him, people think I'm a haxxor or that it's bugged
* Crabshah my tank pet (a crab). (our guild's MT is named "Badshah", thus the name of my tank pet)

My successful tame came while he was in wolf form with HP that looked as if he should have just been ready to change.

i also failed one time when i started taming as wolf, he changed and though it looked like i was going to get him once the tame finished he turned into a wolf

If you enter an Arena, the pet reverts back to wolf form.

I don't expect these to last very long - as its highly probable that the Worgen will be a playable race (guessing Horde) in the coming expansions.

apparently there has been a blue post with regards to the worg pet but unfortunatly the thread was deleted, so this info is second hand. but the blue post supposedly stated along the lines of...

worg will no longer be tameable.
those with worg can keep him
the arena bug will be fixed.


But yes for now the only way to lose the worg skin is to go into arena with that specific pet. and its a permanent revert to wolf.

This thread is coming up at a perfect time for me. My hunter is 71.3 and barely done any of Northrend yet (just far enough for the starter weapons), only about 50% done with BEM and still have Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley left in Outlands. There's probably only a dozen or so quests to do before I can unlock that quest chain for her in Fjord. I think she'll definitely be making a visit back to Fjord either tonight or tomorrow.

I hope they'll leave it as a legacy pet where you can keep it if you already have it but no one else can get it after a patch or something. I agree that they should leave this type of thing in the game as it provides a way for people to enjoy the game more for those that take the effort to figure things out like this. It doesn't hurt anything (from what I understand the pet has wolf abilities, but simply looks like a worgen) and gives people perks for simply having been around longer than new people.

Even if they take it out with the next patch in a couple of weeks, it'll still be fun to play around with it just for the novelty factor.
