Default Beyond bored. Looking for something a little different.

So just like every summer there seems to be no really amazing games to play. Let me give you a small back ground about myself. I have 6x80s (5shammys and a DK) which i used to duelbox with. I cleared many of the Heroics (enough to get what i wanted) and I enjoyed the hell out of boxing my guys. However I just got way to burnt out and with little to do I had quit wow. So my eye is now turned to wow...AGAIN. This time im looking @ doing something a little silly/Different. I had a few different thoughts and thus far have come up with 3 options.

    1. 5 Hunters (Sorry just the pets alone would be hilarious!)
    2. 5 DKs (they basically all start @ 58 /with decent gear this is really nice!)
    3. 5 Ret (Devine storm x5 = probably some of the funniest wow moments ever)

What do you think Especially the 5 rets PVP/ PVE how would it do?

How annoying is it to box with melee chars?
Any type of guidance would be great because right now this summer is sucking entertainment wise. (dont tell my GF lol)

I am a triple boxer and so far love my DK team. They are 74 and I'm sure that they will all be unholy spec when I hit 80, lots of fun and death grip gets the ranged action close. One thing to note though is that I do have a N52 mapped with the thumb stick to control my secondary toons WASD if the hit box is too small. But you should already be ready for that with targeting vendors and questgivers. If I had the time to level the pallies I would say those are fun too, I have a 2xpally 1xsham team and they are a blast to run.

I have all three of those teams. I would suggest you replace one of the five with a healer. It's nice to be able to heal pets as they tank with the hunter team, and I seem to end up with one dead DK or hunter far too often. Obviously, with the paladins you have a dream team, and my favorite once you start getting the nice gear in mid-outlands. I also recommend 5 druids, feral early, can switch to booms later if you desire. It's great when a ganker goes after that lone cat to find 4 stealthed waiting for him.

4 hunters and a priest for the aoe heals are fun. On the other hand I boxed 5 hunters to 30 and got burt rather quickly. send pet, hunters mark, 2,3,4,4,4,3,4,4,4 was tideous
im working on a 5 man raid set now. wanna farm my own gear.

At least one that can heal as others have mentioned but more importantly at least one that can rez unless you're going engineering on them all. Reason being is that if one dies it sucks just standing around with the rest of the group while you corpse run the one that died back.

I personally found the hunter team to be a little annoying to play.
Sure you destroy things very quickly, but the pets would frequently have one of them choose a weird target.

One hunter is amazingly strong in relation to one of just about anything else as far as leveling speed goes.
Five of anything destroys the same thing as easily as five of pretty much anything else.
The difference comes when you're doing heroics or more challenging content.

If you go with DK's, they start at 55 and will be 57 or 58 by the time you leave the starting area.
If you go with anything else at all, I'd start some new accounts.
Say two existing and three new. The new accounts only need Classic, unless you want to play Draenei/Blood Elves.
Battlechests are only slightly more expensive then Classic wow, if you're planning on keeping the accounts.
By paying a subscription on the new account, an existing account is credited with a month of play, net cost is even.
Once the new toons are 60th, transfer them to your existing accounts.
Ends up costing you $25 per transfer and a bit for the game, but gets you RAF again, which is far better then normal leveling.

I found 5x Discipline Priests to be a very fun composition. Holy Fire (x5) and Smite (x5) kill anything.
Because you have 5 of the toons you're only using 20% of the mana on each and every toon mana regens.
    I had little downtime leveling.

For me, this is a battleground distraction group.
Sit in the back behind a choke point. You can Renew (x5) or PW:Shield, Pain Suppression, Penance.
In short make your opposition extremely miserable.

Another very fun team is all Balance Druids.
They have a lot of power both DPS and multiple HoT's.
Most of the boxing software has some form of mouse broadcasting, Force of Nature and Hurricane are amazing.

A bear is a little more complicated then a Prot-Pally, a tree is comparable to a Resto Shammy.
This combo is basically as viable and powerful as Pally + 4x Shammy, for PvE play.
PvP, you have a lot of power, but a bit less burst and protective totems.

    *Edit*
    Forgot to add...
Melee are a ton easier then they used to be.

In interface options, enable "Click to Move".
I believe it is in the mouse section.

In keybinds, create a keybind for "Interact With Target".

I'd personally not enable it on your main/healer/tank.
But enable it for sure on your slave/alts, especially if they're melee.

If you run with say 1x Priest and 4x Fury Warriors.
You can click your assist key so the warriors have the same target as the priest.
Now click your interact with target key and the warriors (pets) will all run in to the target.

Anytime the target turns or changes its position, reclick your interact key and the melee will follow it.
Follow is the wrong word. They'll move to where it was, when you clicked the interact key.
You can spam the key, so they'll turn and follow a moving target.

It might be amusing to go with say... Resto Shammy...
In 3.2 Chain Heal is getting a decent buff, 10 yard range on hops.
Shammies are also getting a totem bar to relatively easily drop 4x totems all at once.

So you have decent single target heals, and very strong AoE/group heals.
You have 4 melee in melee range.
Once they're there, click your dps macro's on them.

You could even go with a mixed melee team.
If you're not playing shammy as the healer, say Priest for an example.
Your pets could be... combat rogue, ret pally, enhance shammy and say cat druid.
The pally gets you the option for a Prot build if you decide on heroics later.
Substitute fury/prot warrior for the pally if you like.

Actually, using the interact with target keybind makes melee a joy IMO. I have a team with 1 shammy, 2 fury wars, 1 arms war, and 1 prot war that is stupidly fun now that I can finance some decent gear. Also I have a low level team that is 1 feral druid and 4 rogues that has it's moments, and the druid can switch to healing if needed. I have a ton of 5x (insert class) teams, and on all except paladin and druid I wish I had a tank and/or healer for the tougher instances. In short, as Fur said, bring a healer or you will wish you had later on.

I have a 5 DK team that I just played out of the starting area and then parked in Hellfire Peninsula some months ago (level 58, indeed).
I played them for 2 levels (it goes quite fast now) on Hellfire Peninsula. They all are Blood spec. It is stupidly fast and easy, Death Grip, one attack, and every mob at level dies. No downtime at all, no need for heal or drink or eat. When I hit 60, I went to buy now competences, and was curious to see how they would do in instance. So I went to Remparts. I can say I never found the instance that easy with any level 60 character/group. I could not kill the dragon, although I tried several times. I will go back with fire pots. But for the rest, everything was piece of cake. I must have lost about 5 characters in total, without a single wipe before I got to the end boss. Amazing. Maybe now that I master the healing part of the spec better I would even do it easier (I was optimizing macros while running the instance. Outside world didn't give me the opportunity to need healing).
I am really motivated to get that group to 80 and try PVP with it.

As was already said, "/console AutoInteract 1" on all followers makes mêlée boxing very easy now.

I also played a 5 beast hunters group until 60. Then I swapped one for a druid. I have a heal pet on every hunter + group heal on the druid (targeted on one of the pet), and that's mostly enough to go through most instances (not heroics, though, the pets are not resistant enough even for the simplest ones).
I am now doing PVP with that group. Certainly fun. I am not sure whether I would not prefer simply 5 hunters, though, at least for battlegrounds.

About silly options, another of my side projects is 5 Arcane Mage. I cannot wait to see them all with glyphed mirror image : 25 gnomes ! Still some way to go, they are only closing to level 67.

if you play alliance, don't overlook the Dranei racial.. "Gift of the Naaru" which when spammed x5 will get most characters back up to full HP
