Anyone get the werewolf hunter pet?

Got it, 4th attempt. Just took practice to get the timing dialed in just perfect.

1. Beat him down to about 7200 health.
2. Disengage
3. Wyvern Sting immediately before he gets into melee again
4. Wait for sting to have 16 secs left (time will vary depending on your haste, hence the practice)
5. Tame Beast
6. Pray to god he goes under 50% right as you finish the taming process.

I logged into another account to chat with the troll hunter in the foreground there. He pointed to Kaderri then "Wolf" so I decided to chat with him. Unfortunately he's already done all the quests there, so he can't get it.

ok well its just about impossible to get this pet right now. It's pretty much camped 24/7 with 80 hunters of both factions and the pvp mess is pretty hilarious at times. People griefing each other as they try to tame. I just hope they dont nerf it tomorrow in a hotfix or something.

As you put it Zennie, we are currently discussing this issue.

It is not intended that Garwal can be tamed while in worgen form and will be addressed via a hotfix in the near future. When we have determined how to handle situations where hunters have already tamed Garwal we will let you know.

When it comes to hunter pets, Blizzard has flat out lied to the hunter community in the past - so don't believe ANYTHING that comes from them.

(Look up the ghost wolf fiasco.. they explicit said that they weren't going to make them not tamable, then next patch it was specifically removed)

Oh come on, it's not like Blizzard is somehow unaware that have complete control over their own game. The idea that it would even occur to our absolute tyrant to lie is ridiculous -- if they said they wouldn't, but then they did, it'll be because they changed their minds, not because they were terrified of the magnificent power of a few whiny kids playing hunters. It's not lying, it's game development.

I got mine after ~10 tries.
A horde fellow got his just after I arrived.
Another horde hunter did the quests while I was trying and got his on the first try.

You may have missed it, but I mentioned in my previous post that my hunter was just 71. Pretty sure Garwal was level 71 as well, so that is likely the minimum level before you can even tame him. She was spec'd as BM, so I had to change over to Surv right before attempting, and I'd never played with wyvern sting before.

You just need to know that the sting has a 30s duration, then causes damage over time for 6s after the sting wears off. If he's at like 51% health, then the sting will be enough to knock him under 50% health and cause him to transform. If your tame is just a couple seconds behind when the sting wears off (the sleep phase), then you have a good chance that tame will complete when the damage phase of the sting ticks once and makes him transform.

I should also mention that 2 attempts actually resulted in me doing just over 50% health, causing him to transform before I could even disengage and sting him, so I had to put him out of his misery and try it again. It's tricky to decide when to stop DPS in the first place so that you can time the tame just right.
