I blame WoW for my husband, too. :whistling:

Kidding! We were actually close friends for a while back when we were scoffing at each other over other games. "Eww, you play EQ? You so need to come play AC and be my [s]bitc[/s] vassal!" Things got complicated, we stopped talking to each other for a few years. When I tried the WoW beta I said to myself "This is a game everyone is going to play." and started laying out hints that my long-lost friend should get in touch with me and come play. He took the bait and we finally started talking again. Then we started talking a lot. Last week we celebrated 3 years of marriage.

I may have a lot of complaints about the game, but if it wasn't for that day in beta when I realized this was going to be THE game, my life would have been very, very different. I never would have made the first move to rekindle our friendship, no matter how badly I wanted to. Nor would he. I would still be stuck in a dead-end relationship, always wondering about what would have happened if I didn't get browbeaten into avoiding someone I loved. But a game was a safe and innocent enough place to begin trying to start over. ^^

;( Damnit, I wish this would happen to me ;(

I'm happy for them, I often wish something like this would happen to me. Would be a nice change in my life.

 To all those that have found their other half, be it online or however.

Very cool. Personally, I spend my OTHER time with my wife. I come play WoW with my headphones on for some alone time. So it would be nice to be able to play some more because she was into it too, but I would lose out on that alone time.

My wife hates computer games at any rate so I dont have to worry about it =P

I'm in the exact same boat as you. My wife and I are the definition of "opposites attract". I'm a left-brain, mathematics and science geek computer geek. She's a right-brain, talented musician and singer and very artistic. We make a great couple because our differences complement each other and we do have enough things in common that our bond formed strong right from the get-go as well. When we met, I was moving away from my hometown 1400 km to another city in 2 weeks, and we both knew it, so it was supposed to just be a one-night thing. However, we stayed in touch and every time I returned home for a visit we hooked up. She ended up coming out for a "visit" after she finished university, which lasted 3 months and turned into her moving in with me, then a couple years later she convinced me we should both move back home to our friends and family :P

Anyhow my point was just that, the best I've done in terms of getting my wife into gaming was to coach her (over 45 mins) up to level 3 in wow. She just could not get the hang of the game at all, kept dying to the non-aggressive mobs in the start area because she didn't realize you have to be facing the mob to attack it and not just jumping up and down while it hits you from behind...lol it was kinda funny and frustrating at the same time.

Here's a sample conversation I'd had with my ex about playing. He was about level 25, I was about 40 and we'd been playing WoW for quiet a while. I think I was on my 3rd or 4th toon.

Him - "This mob keeps killing me. Can you come heal me?"
Me - "Why are you meleeing it?"
    Him - "Because...??"
Me - "You're a warlock, cast spells on it."
Him - "But it's attacking me."
    Me - "Where's your pet?"
    Him - "Pet?"
Me - "Fear it and summon your pet."
Him - "But then I can't hit it..."
Me - "...Fear it. Summon your pet. Send your pet after it. Cast your spells on it. It will die."

    -Twenty minutes later-

Me - "Why did you just run into those mobs?"
Him - "Cuz I need to kill them." *stab stab*
    Me - "..."
    Him - *DoT stab stab*
Me "...I have to go to another zone now."
Him - "Can you heal me first?"
Me - "Oooh, darn, my hearthstone already cast...shucks. Sorry!"
