Default Help with new RAM on my SYSTEM

    hi guys,

not sure if anyone could help me but i guess i'll juz post it anyway.. appreciate all the help i could get.. i tried to upgrade my ram yesterday and to no avail..

    my existing setup:

    - Gigabyte EP45-UD3 mobo
    - 4GB Kingston 800 MHz RAM (2x 2gb) - 1.8V
    - Palit Radeon 4870 1gb gfx
    - 12V/470W power supply
    - Cooler Master V8 CPU cooler
    - Core 2 Duo E8400
    - Cooler Master Storm Sniper Casing

the existing setup works well, no issues. So yesterday i went to get some better Mhz rams so that i could overclock my CPU more. and the rams i got was:

    - 4gb OCZ Platinum 1066Mhz (2x 2gb) P/N: OCZ2P10664GK - 2.2V

I took out my 2x Kingston RAM and plugged in the OCZ ram. it wont boot. I cant even get to POST to enter bios.

so i decided to do a clear cmos. After i cleared cmos, i plugged in both, still wont boot. so i tried just 1. it boots, but with 2 of em in, it wont boot. so i figured out it might be the voltage setting. since i was able to boot with 1 of em, i went to bios and changed the settings for the dram voltage.from 1.8v to 2.2v.

tried to boot with 1 of em, works. plugged in both, it wont boot, not even to bios. why?

here are the settings i set for my bios.

    VCore - 1.3125V
    Termination - 1.22V
    CPU PLL - 1.5
    CPU Ref - Auto
    -----------------------------------
    MCH Core - 1.26V
    MCH Reference - Auto
    MCH/DRAM Reference - Auto
    ICH I/O - Auto
    ICH Core - Auto
    -----------------------------------
    DRAM Voltage - 2.2V
    DRAM Termination - Auto
    Channel A Reference - Auto
    Channel B Reference - Auto

Is there anything that i set wrongly? Appreciate any help provided. Thanks.

The only thing I could suggest is to swap the RAM sticks (on the slots that they go into) if you haven't tried that.

Otherwise I would suggest the OCZ forums, the folks there seem to be very helpful:
