Default Relocating the WTF folder

I have posted this same thread on the Technical Support, General, and UI forums on the wow site with no help at all, figured I would try here.

Because of the way I use my characters, I tend to change which computer they are logged on to as I raid with a particular one. Now, what I am looking for is a way to have a single copy of my wtf and interface folders located on my primary computer while my seconday computers access those files over the network. Because of the small size and low amount of access to those files I do not perceive this inducing any lag apart from a minimal increase in initial load times.

So my question is, how can I go about doing this? One option I had was to use Symbolically Linked Folders, however windows XP is not able to use Symbolic Links over a network connection, to use this method I would have to "up"grade to Windows Vista which I do not want to do. So my question is, does anyone know of a way to relocate or redirect the WTF and Interface folders to a network location?

Have you tried sharing those folder on the network using Windows Network Sharing on your primary computer?

I've been using a tool called SyncToy 2.0
I've used this for other things in the past and it has bitten me more than enough times to steer clear of using it for anything I care about. The best thing it ever did was failed to sync a large group of new files from my laptop to my desktop in one session, then later, when it started trying again to sync it decided that the proper thing to do was to delete the extra files from he laptop. (much quicker too) I had it set for 2 way replication, since i like to be able to work on things on the laptop or the desktop at will.

Now I use svn or git, and never lose files any more.

Simply sharing the folders do no good as wow would not know to access the files through the network as opposed to the default location.

I need a way to make wow think the wtf folder on the network is in fact the default location.
It is really looking like the only way to do this is through Symbolic Links, unfortunately while XP is capable of doing Symbolic links, it is not able to do it over the network.
So likely I will have to move to vista...

I have noticed that sometimes the addons get corrupted and no longer work (Jamba specifically - I love and hate this addon)
Srsly? This is the one addon I have never had any trouble with, at all. It's QuestHelper, GearScore and Gatherer that crap out on me all the time.

Have you tried MultiTool by DgtlSorcrs? it's much lighter and covers those 2 functions with a few others.

Ya multitool looks nice.

IS will let you virtulize the wtf file:

[Innerspace] ISBoxer Toolkit - Zero to Hero in 30 minutes Setup.

Maybe thats not what you want to do but maybe it can be.

I use this sync program (not for wow) but it makes lots of failures but it does get 90 percent of your files there and when it makes a failure it dosnt hurt if you set it up to write to a temp file first.
