Thread: keymap problems

  1. #1

    Default keymap problems

Tried to switch to strict whitelist on dnp and use keymaps today but having trouble.

Set up two keymaps "ret_pally" and "holy_priest". In my pally wow Bindings wtf file I set NUMPAD0 to be NONE and my priest has prayer of mending bound to NUMPAD0. My priest has a number of macros that target by name bound to ctrl-numpad{X} that I use to target heals with.

In *both* kc keymaps I set up NUMPAD0 -> hotstring: num.0

I fire up my big window and little window and load each keymap into the appropriate window in keyclone but NUMPAD0 is never fired on my priest when I press it in my pally's window. I turn on dnp passthrough and it works fine.

Do I need to have NUMPAD0 in the strict whitelist too? I don't think I do because the way I understand it "num.0" would be sent to the priest's window and that in turn would press NUMPAD0 on that window, it's not a key pass situation. Please correct me if I'm wrong and if anyone knows why this isn't working please let me know. I'm tried a number of different things like loading the map on window startup but it still does not work.

    Thanks!,

if you want numpad0 to go to both wows, you do not need a keymap. just put it on the whitelisted DNP and that will work.

Thanks KC, any chance of adding a checkbox for each key in the keymap to allow or block that key? I want to be able to press the key on the current window but would really want only my priest to actually get that keypress. It would be the equivalent of binding to nothing (except for the one window that has the keymap that allows that key) but a whole lot easier to set up outside of wow.

ahh. in that case, a keymap would make sense. you would have a keymap that pushes the hotstring to the others, and does nothing on the current. the others would just not define an action for that hotstring.. and only the priest would map that hotstring to an actual key

I'm still having trouble with keymaps, on my 5 shamans today I had each loaded with the exact same keymap and the key would not fire on the clones. Same key, same hotstring but they just would not fire. I had to add each spell keybind to the strict whitelist then of course it just passed them through but I really would like to use keymaps because my other toons don't have as extensive keybinds and I don't want the keys to reach them. Having a keymap blacklist in addition would be awesome.

If you need further layout of what I'm talking about let me know and I'll pm it to you.

    Thanks!
