Thread: Leveling Mages?

  1. #1

    Default Leveling Mages?

    Or any other non-tanking class.

How do you level 4-boxed mages? Or even 5 mages?

Or 4-5 of anything that doesn't go well in an instance?

The combo I had in mind was a little simpler then the above:
1 Prot Pally (main) along with 4 alt Shadow Priests (or 3 + 1 Holy Priest). The prot pally tanks the mobs, the Shadow Priests burn 1 at a time down with mind flay.

Do those who 4-5 box usually stick to instances? Or grind outside? I just can't see there being enough mobs to satiate a full group of players.

I apologize for my sarcasm, but I'm in a strange way today.

There are these nifty little things in the game.... I think they call them quests?

But seriously, with the 2.3 changes questing is amazing. With multiple mages you can just AoE grind on your way to do various quests. you would burn through the levels, but really wouldn't have the ability to do instances.

However, if you wanted to still go the AoE route, why not slap in a prot pally for tanking and consecrate, 3 mages, and a holy priest for prayer of healing and crcle of healing? That way you could still "solo" instances and have all of that AoE goodness.

Look up Jame's Leveling Guide and use that (or the for-pay ones). Those work even better post-2.3.

AoE grinding makes me happy in my no-no places.

It's a great change of pace from the usual, fireball, fireball, fireball, fireblast, loot routine.

Goldfarmer mages have a long circuit from 1-60 that has them farming various Scarlet Monastery instances for many many levels, anyone got some further thoughts about that? I see them do it together

If you were on two or more pcs and could broadcast your mouse, then mages will be alot easier. Not that they don't work on one pc but you gimp yourself not being able to broadcast the mouse for flamestrikes and blizzards and such.
