Thread: mass CC macro?

Hybrid View

    Default mass CC macro?

    Is there a way to target a random enemy player or npc? If my group runs across 3 or more opposing players, it would be handy to give myself some breathing room and be able to have my toons randomly target an enemy player - for the purpose of mass CC. It would be OK if there were some overlap (don't think its possible to have everyone target a unique emeny), but taking 50-75% of them out of the fight right away would be handy. Possible?

    /targetenemy
    /cast Hex

    /targetenemy
    /targetenemy
    /cast Hex

    Each /targetenemy is like tabbing once, so multiple calls to it would be like your alts tabbing more than once and they would get a different target.

    Note that those examples do work, but the results are highly unpredictable. Watch the resto shaman PVP video that was posted last week for a good example. I tried that for my warlock fears and about 40% of the time, I'd end up with all 4 locks fearing the same target or something else retarded. Not poopooing it, just saying, don't be surprised if it's a marginal success.

    Mentioned this about 5 times in my Gladius target hex discussion. In arena especially, you do NOT want to be triggering 2nd and 3rd diminishing returns on the same target. Its better to only have 1-2 toons casting CC if you use this system. You WILL get overlap.

    Default mass cc

    We could also use some rotation with them to not overlap it:

    i.e.:
    * 1st key push - 2 shamans cast hex
    * 2nd key push - 3 shamans cast hex

    could work good.

    just found this yesterday:

    /targetenemyplayer
    /targetenemyplayer 1

    The "1" sets a reverse selection order ... might work to apply them alternately ... wowwiki says you can only use the commands one per macro, so i'll have to hit the macro a few times. gonna try this later

    i use assist. my first shaman targets a toon, casts hex. my second shaman assists, then /targetnext to switch to the next closest target after the first shamans target, and so on.

    its still not perfect, but im guaranteed to at least frog the specific toon im targeting, plus 3 more randoms close by. at least it guarantees 4 separate targets?
