Apparently reports that Michael Jackson had a heart attack in the emergency ward were incorrect - he was in the children's ward, having a stroke.

:P
That's hysterical.

I grew up in the 70s, and a cousin of mine (or two) had the famous poster of Farrah Fawcett-Majors in the red swimsuit on his wall. Considering that after a year of Charlie's Angels her career went pretty much nowhere, she remained extremely popular for a long time. On the other hand, Michael Jackson had the world at his feet by the mid-80s and just destroyed it all. I think he bought his own hype and it screwed him up even worse than he probably already was. As it is, I think he brought it on himself, which is probably why a lot of people laugh at the joke above instead of thinking "that's wrong." From the constant plastic surgery to the failed attempts to remain relevant (the angry, violent, crotch-stroking finale to his "Black or White" video was particularly embarrassing) to the allegations of child abuse, he just kept digging himself deeper and deeper.

That is a guy who could have been the most popular man on the planet, and just ruined it all. It's hard to feel anything for him, although I'm sure a lot of fans are crushed. But I bet that a lot of them feel more like it's a relief. If there is one thing that would've put a truly pathetic exclamation point on his life, it would have been watching him get old and seeing his face fall off, or something like that.
