[How-to] 5x Paladins Disscusion

I have been using Stealthys godsent /click macro for my rets for quite a while now. I am however starting to feel like there could be more improvements made as I feel my dps is really low :P I am not sure if it's just in my head though

On a stationary boss encounter without gimmicks my rets will average 2,5k dps, with some luck they MIGHT hit 3k, but that's very rarely.

Macro 1:

/assist focus
/startattack
/stopcasting
/click MultiBarLeftButton1
/click MultiBarLeftButton2
/click MultiBarLeftButton3
/click MultiBarLeftButton4
/click MultiBarLeftButton5

The /stopcasting is there for exorcism and art of war procs...since excorcism now has a cast time, if the macro is called it starts to cast it, and art of war hasn't proc'd, the next button press will stop the cast. If art of war has proc'd however, it will be instant cast and the macro will go ahead. This macro will also cast Hammer of Wrath when the mob falls below 20% health. You can sub in Flash of Light for Exorcism if you want heals instead of dps. You can also macro in Consecration if facing multiple mobs (although this tends to chew through mana).

My question is.. am I just retarded for thinking that I should do more dps than I am or could there be some tweakage to this macro?

I cant see your armory right now, but given heroic emblem gear 2.5k isnt bad without raid buffs (specifically WF haste). If you are running a DK tank with improved icy talons then I might be concerned, but basically you are almost hitting 3k without a bunch of raid buffs and debuffs in heroic gear(im assuming here.)

Really? Well I guess I should be happy with the dps then. Just felt a bit low with my current gear (imo).

Heroics is a bad place to judge dps. My shaman can vary anywhere from 6k dps (heroism) to the low 2000s during trash pulls. I would go check it on a dummy and honestly I dont think your dps is that bad. If you were sporting ToC10 and 25 stuff then I would be doing a wtf-face.

Well that's the thing, even on a doll it's 2,2-2,5kish. Granted I haven't played since Naxx but my DK did a lot more damage in crappier gear, but I heard they got nerfed so its hard to compare.

You can drag the spells out of the spellbook and put them onto a bar so they're easily visible.
Then do your spam, and observe the spells.

Verify that each is clicked basically immediately after coming off of cooldown.

Adjust the comma's for timing, if necessary.
Stealthy's macro's are usually pretty good, but everyone has their own click speed.

I'm currently testing the macro as we speak. I'm not saying that Stealthy's macro is bad, more that my paladins are doing crap ass dmg. Trying a few things now, but it seems like it's pretty equal dmg wise to what Stealthy already had in his macro. 2,350dps on the heroic dummy feels weak tho :P

But I'll look into the commas!

I've been fiddling around with both /click and /castsequence..

With the /click dps macros for rets that I could find my average dps on the heroic dummy were around 2200 (2 min testing or more)

I tried a couple of /castsequence macros but due to the 255 char limit I couldnt get anything satisfying so, after reading around on the forums (using lots and lots of search :P) I found the Super Duper Macro which just gave me another +400 solid dps So without buffs I'm currently putting out an average of 2600 dps with my current gear. Feels better since i can peak well over 4k but not sustain it.

I'm gonna continue to tweak it a bit as this one has two crusader strikes after each other.. but you get the picture.
