Yeah he's defintely a bit of gear check for pallies. Here's what worked for me:

    1. During the Colossus phase tank and spank as normal.
    2. During the elemental phase have your tank walk backwards leading the mob around while your alts follow and DPS. This will make sure your guys don't stay in the puddles too long, and the mvoement is slow enough so that your alts DPS should be ok.
    3. Stop DPS during the transition to the 2nd Colossus phase (aggro reset)to let your tank pick up aggro again.
    4. Save divine shield & lay on hands for the elemental phases.
    5. Don't forget to refresh Sacred Shield (usually during the 2nd Colossus phase is best).

    Cheers,
    S.

Downed him last night at lvl 77, but lost one pally. I still cannot figure out how he's doing so much dmg to all my paladins. I run around the room like a maniac so there's no possible way the paladins are staying in any type of pool or whatever that damages them. It's like the fact that they are in melee range is damaging to them, but I read strats on this boss and all people mention are the little purple things he leaves on the ground.

Easily the hardest boss I've encountered in northrend, he's harder than the final boss in grundrak.

For shits and giggles I tried Utgarde Pinnacle up to the first boss. No wipes, but some of the pulls had some serious dmg spikes on my tank that were suprising. The first boss was such a pushover though.

*edit* I will be running gundrak again for the Fraps movie, so I can post the vid later in case I'm doing something wrong during the fight.

I did a gear guide for myself, but I posted it on my blog also.

Tank (three different BiS with heroics/crafted/emblems and so on)

    Retribution (same thing)

Thanks Basically Stealthy has been my inspiration, everything he says is information. He's a walking australian wiki for multiboxing paladins This thread has been my bible since I started, but it seems like ppl gave up on paladins, it's very quiet atleast.

I love my paladins and especially my tank. The survivability on him is scary, it's usually so good that when I'm actually trying to suicide him I get annoyed since it takes too long

Just for the record I haven't given up on my paladins. I joined the USAF and just barely got done with basic and am currently working my way through tech school. I'm going to be right back at it once I get to my first duty station. In the mean time I'm glad to see so many people getting good info. from this thread. Hope to be back online in a few months!

I agree with mebben. I find it very annoying when I am trying to get my prot pally killed off and he just keeps taking more hits that don't seem to do much. So i encourage him to die by sitting more.. lol. still takes forever sometimes.

Haha yeah, I screwed up on a boss in an instance last night and knew I would wipe, I sat there for a while just waiting for my tank to finally die......then ardent defender kicked in and I had to wait longer!

A tad off-topic, but still dealing with five paladins, so I didn't want to clutter up the board with a new thread.

Up until level 60, does it matter if I attempt dungeons without a Protection tank, or Holy healer? Basically, could I get away with running old world dungeons with a five ret team?

Or at least up until level 40, where I can dual spec them.
