boosting with mage

Hello,

I am using a mage to boost my lowbie toons and I'm wondering how much can I pull without dying. My mage is not very geared, but this is the only level 80 toon I have on Alliance . About 12k hp unbuffed, 1k sp, frost specced.

My schedule is as follows:
1. Deadmines
2. Stockade
3. SM
4. ZF? or is ST a better option?
5. Stratholme? is this a good idea?
6. Ramparts (can I even solo this one?)

For #5 and #6, I can ask my friend's protadin to switch in to boost instead if it's too troublesome for a mage, as long as it's not for too many levels. I don't want to bother him that much.

But for #1, I think I can 2 pull the entire instance safely. The whole door blasting thing makes it hard to 1 pull.
For #2, I haven't tried yet but I think I can 1 pull.

Also, when you boost with mage, do you just pop Ice Barrier and run around while refreshing it as necessary? I am tempted to use rank 1 Frost nova to snare them in place sometimes so that I'm not taking that much hit, but I'm afraid if I do it too frequently it may kill a few mobs accidentally.

i boosted with my mage to. just run and the ice barrier will do the work for u. otherwise if u need to. use rank 1 and they wont die.. rank one is like 12 dmg. so u can pull alot before the first one dies.

as for #5, #6. it will be verry hard for ur mage. unless u can maybe try and heal with ur multibox team. this worked for me realy good

as far as the low level instances, I used a shaman for this whole tihng, and I am still 4 manning Utgarde.. I had not trouble with #1-6, But you can not just jump and pull all of the stockades... THey do not hit hard, but they have this kick the pushes you down on the floor. When you start to getr 200 of them on you, they can start kicking you so much that you can not even get up lol.. So just do it in 2 sections.. Thats the best way...

I did, DM, Stockades, SM, ZF, blackrock depths, Ramparts

I got to lvl 60 in /played 18 hours (beast) with that setup

thanks for the feedback. I figured as I get to higher levels, my multibox team (with multiple healing classes) will be able to heal quite a bit, and I can just pull smaller sections.

Just pay someone to run your toon on a mammoth mount or chopper to SFK. Then summon the rest of your toons there. you can 2 pull that instance.. If the door didnt stop you I am pretty sure you can 1 pull hte entire place. only 1 set of mobs has a silence effect. From there you can go right to SM. I think thats alot easier than deadmines to stocks.. just loot the bosses for a chance to get shadowfang.

Edit: my other suggestion is make a DK on your main acct. just level him to 70. shouldnt take long and then buy him the starter cobalt tanking set for northrend.. use him to boost.. 60-70 on the dk is a breeze so it shouldnt take much of your RAF time at all.

Getting to instances are really easy with RAF summon a friend.... that mage is still on RAF so he can start a chain of summoning, so yeah, I will try SFK then

Using DK is not possible because:
1. this main account has a DK on another faction already
2. I do have a 78 DK with good tanking gear from UP/HoS etc, but he's on the same account as one of the toons I want to boost

Just for my own need of clarification, do you mean on the other faction of the same server? Not too many people on PvE servers do that, so it seemed a little different. And if it's on a different server then you can just make another one on this server.

it's on that server already... and I thought you're limited with 1 dk per server per account.... so that booster account has a DK on that server on the other faction, so I have to use my mage for boosting.

But it's been working well, I just left deadmines and starting stockades, and I find that if I navigate well, I can even avoid most of the down-to-the-floor kick that they do and 1 pull the whole thing. But Bazil Thredd tends to reset aggro if I run to fast, so in the interest of time I just don't kill him and quickly reset the instance and do it all over again.

Another question: when boosting, do you guys loot? I know how to make loot only appear on green and above items, but sometimes I want the cloth drops too and this is taking too much time. I can't imagine that when I'm finally doing SM, as alliance, I will be far away from any vendors and thus emptying grays will be painful.

I am doing this with a warlock and I do loot since I hit the 5 instance cap anyway so might as well. So I go sell the greys, repair my main. Having one of your toons to de though I have found is pretty important. i bought Frostweave bags so I have alot of room. It takes me 7 mins to do stocks ( I have to do it in three pulls) and 7 mins 45 secs to do SM cath which is two pulls becuase of the door. I think next time I might try and do SM cath in one pull.

lol yea I finally hit that 5 instance thing yesterday when boosting non stop (I used to play just 30 mins at a time when in deadmines, I left my summoners at the door to start the chain of summoning)

when you're boosting with warlock, how are you doing it? do you tell VW to attack groups of mobs left and right, or do you just run through them and pop Immolation Aura in the end? having a lock is also nice because you can summon your main back after vendoring and repair
