How do you make gold while leveling?

Please note the facepalm is only regarding mining/herbalism. While these may be neglected, you better be sure to take some time to level these. Otherwise you're going to see a LOT of herbs/ore while questing and not get a single copper out of it.

Having leveled both professions you mention multiple times using each method I assure you that you won't save any time doing it while you level. You will take longer to level and have the hassle of your bags being full while you are trying to do so. At 80 with a fast mount you can power level either of those gathering professions in a few hours. You won't lose any gold because you will get to the level cap quicker and have the ability to do dailies, it takes a ton of low level herbs to equal a level 80 daily.

For boxers it's a rather large waste of time to mess with gathering professions much. We can farm gold and buy the mats much faster then actually collecting them.

Its true that u dont need to visit the AH for gear bc u can go all the way to 80 on quest/drop gear but without any other income apart from quest u cant get everything like u say. I dont think that u get 38g on each character for the first mount with only the quests from 1-30 and im sure u will have to choose what skills to learn bc u will not have enough money to learn all. Like u say, its true that its more easy to learn a trade after u hit 80 but the OP was asking "while leveling" and he never talk about fast leveling. In fact is more quick to stay around in the same area for a little bit to keep ur trade on level than enter an instance for farming drops a zillion times. Just my $ 0.02 . Peace

I am actually on Saurfang as well and now got 2 teams up to 80. I know what you're talking about since this is a fairly new server making money off the AH is really slow but it's a lot better by now since quite a few people are rerolling alts.

I was able to buy all mounts when they became available (apart from the epic flyer) and what I did is bascially what already has been covered here so far.

- Disenchanting (I made the most money by doing that)
- Don't buy anthing from the AH
- Try to level all your professions while leveling (if you got spare mats, sell them)
- If you're low on gold try to skip not needed training costs (no points in paying for feral talent points when you're druid is balance speced e.g.).

As soon as you are able to move to Northrend money is really no longer an issue since you make so much through questing.
