The DS100 is their cheapest quad stand, does not clamp at the base (just a simple pedestal) and the "arms" are just a slider bar that is no where near as adaptable as the $89 one linked here. Not to mention it is @ 3x the price. Honestly, I think the $89 one linked here is the better stand reguardless of price....and then it's also the less expensive stand by @$200....unless you really wanted to own an ERGOTRON just so you can say you only use ERGOTRON stands and don't care what you pay for what you get.Originally Posted by 'Elektric',index.php?page=Thread&postID=212235#pos t212235
I use 2 of the quad stands. works great. Mounting system feels very secure (this is on a glass table with steel framing that isn't the simplest surface to mount things to), the arms are holding up my 17" screens great with no drooping and offers alot of adjustments to let you position the screens as needed.
I have had 1 of the quad stands for over 2 years now and got the second one maybe a year ago. Everything is still holding up like new, none of the adjust points are showing any signs of even wanting to try drooping. All these things are are steel tubing, a base to support it, mounting plates for the screens and adjustable points. It is amazing people still pay $$$$$$$$$$$ for Ergotrons. It's like they attached some mysticism to monitor stands requiring them to be overpriced to be good.
