I wouldn't say that people twink to pwn nontwinks.

They twink because they know the bracket is stable. Blizz isn't going to add another season of gear or for them to grind for or throw another expansion on top of them. Once they are maxed out, they are done, and can focus on pvping for fun, instead of pvping for gear.

About "stable" gear - I logged in my l19 twink mage (yes I was trying the hard stuff, not the usual twink rogue...) only to find that her boots (fishing boots), hats, etc... we're all "red' unusable... including some expensive enchants, etc... so I guess if I ever want to play her again I have to re equip her - the only good news is I can finally get her the arena master trinket she can't get now because that would make her ding...

This.

I twink and all I ever hear from non twinkers is QQ about us only twinking to pwn non twinks. I think with any niche group, you will have people who don't quite understand what it's all about and cast [often bad] judgements on that particular interest. Just like we do here, there is a whole community of twinkers out there.

Unfortunately, last patch they nerfed most of the BC enchants/enhancements that could be used by twinks, by putting level caps on most enchants. My 19 rogue lost about 700 or so hp but im still sitting at 900hp, 30% crit and 50% dodge.

Especially when said non-twinks are folks new to the game and just trying to take an enjoyable break from PVE leveling. The last time I played a low-level BG match was when the other team had two twink rogues on it. I watched one of theirs with almost 1k hp go through the two casters (who had about 400hp) in about 6 hits and then dodge everything the normally-geared rogue and hunter (me) threw at him. Wasn't even sporting. /shrug My non-twink 19 rogue I was playing recently is sitting at about 9% crit and 18% dodge with normal green quest gear. Versus something like this? LOL!

On top of that, you have no shortage of twinks who sit and spam trade all day about how badly the just "pwned" people in that last BG, or who show off achievements and youtube videos of them just slaughtering normals.

Nobody would complain about twinks if you could choose a BG that excluded them so you'd be up against other normal players. Looks like they're finally drawing that line, which I think is a Good Thing(tm).

IDD. There is no fun in one shotting players with a fraction on the gear you do.

I love the competitivness of twink Vs twink pre-mades! I've spent many hours grinding on my main to get gear/ enchants to perfect my fun little killing machine. It's nice to know that Blizz have finally done something to even things out a bit, twink or non-twink.

I had a twink rogue for a while, and to be honest it soon lost it's appeal.

Being able to kill any normal gear player in 2 - 3 hits grew old real fast. (especially when I remembered what it was like with the shoe on the other foot).
So i then started hunting through the bg for the opposing teams twinks (if they had any). Normally geared players were just collateral damage.

Then of course you'd face a premade Zerg. They would quick cap 2 flags and then sit below the graveyard waiting for ressers (thats if they didn't sit right in the graveyard killing ressers).

I had two options. Join a pvp guild and live for those occassions when a premade met a premade. Having to go through goodness knows how many matches against teams with normal gear. Or give up. I deleted my twink and never regretted it.

I think this change could be great for twinks and non twinks alike. The twinks get the equivalent of premade vs premade to test their skills and coordination.
Those levelling and looking for a bit of battleground action where they might actually be able to kill the opposition get what they want.

Those who twink to feel elite and to kid themselves that they are a superior player will hate it, but I suspect they will be the minority.

But people twink so that they can beat the snot out of non-twinks. I foresee a large number of people not taking advantage of this and continuing to twink the old way..
I think that there are a small number of twink players who enjoy pounding non-twinks in BGs. I think that most twinks want to face other twinks. The problem for non-twinks was two-fold: One, if they queued up for a low-level BG just for fun or a change of pace, they'd spend the entire BG getting their faces mashed in against players that they had no hope of beating. Two, they risked being berated by their teammates for filling a spot that another twink would have had.

This has been an ongoing fight for a while now, and I think this is a good way to deal with it. Yes, queues may be longer, but then again they may not-- after a while, as players come to understand that they can now compete in low-level BGs, more players might queue up for them. Not only will they avoid the uber-twinks, they get honor, marks, AND experience from it. Sure, some twinks will hit the non-twink circuit, but to do so they have to enable exp, and they'll only be able to battle non-twinks for so long before they either level up or disable exp again.

The xp gain as I understood it was through quests and objectives, so if you dont do any quests or cap flag, capture tower, etc - you wont get xp right? So wouldnt that allow twinks to face nontwinks as long as they just kill people?

Maybe the way it works is that you get exp for simply being in the BG whether you personally cap a flag etc or not. Either way, it's a great step in the right direction from Blizz.
Im looking forward to all the new possibilites it could bring for twinks! No exp= profit!

I dont see the difference on this and facing furiouse geared players when i join bgs on my green rogue!?!?

A easy fix would be:

Take the highest item lvl from your head pice currently in your bags, then neck etc etc.

In the end you divide it on 14 and you get an average item level, you can place your tank gear or pve healing items in the bank to avoid getting ranked to high.(incase theese items are higher itemlvl)
