So I guess this means you can get any BOP you want without worrying about xp ! (and need less careful planning - you can just level to 19,29,39... and then turn off (10g) and then gear up)

On the other hand:

# Players with experience gains turned off who compete in Battlegrounds will face off only against other players with experience gains turned off.

So I guess will be twinks against twinks only - queues may get bigger as a result but I guess it will be fairer

So who will be rolling twink teams ?

Its a needed change, but they need to take it that one step further like EQ2 and let you mentor down to a lower level so you can help new players/toons level w/o all the penalties. Just like in EQ2 when you mentor down, your stats items and skills scale as well so your not invincible.

Awesome! Again (I can't remember the other recent-ish change for the better ... hmm), Blizzard recognizes the reality and shifts the game to suit. They're learning well.

Even if they twink the old way, they will level out of the x9's bracket due to XP in BG's.

This. Except they can't do it the old way if you get exp from BG's. I bet a lot of people will use the feature at the beginning, but when they can no longer take their fully twinked character in and roflstomp normal players who aren't twinked they'll give up.

Will definitely be instructive to see how the twink population does after the changes go live. I see twinks on both sides of the fence, though, so no idea which is the actual larger contingent. I'd say probably 25% fall in twink numbers with the majority sticking around. I really don't think there are THAT many pure griefers in the twink population. You just read about them more because they're such a damn nuisance.
