Bottom line, No hard feelings. I really, really like what we've got going in IRC and I don't wanna turn people away, but it's ok to argue and disagree.
Wanna post why you think a dedicated healer is a good idea? For normals/heroics you'd be suprised at how often they do nothing. :/
In a world all about min/maxing :P
aye. 4x LHW > 1xLHW|HW|CL. jmtcOriginally Posted by 'Kayley',index.php?page=Thread&postID=209121#post2 09121

Calling me a noob would be an understatement...
I have a well geared tank, and my healer was FAR from doing nothing in h-UK.Originally Posted by 'Kayley',index.php?page=Thread&postID=209121#post2 09121

On a heroic fight I'd like to know how often you have to stop DPS to heal... what every 5 seconds or so? I don't really have to crunch the numbers to realize how not efficient this is. If you have 3 dedicated dps that don't stop the entire fight, and have 1 dedicated healer that is able to focus on just healing... If the two teams setups were racing on a boss, I'd put all my money on the 'trinity' team.Originally Posted by 'Darelik',index.php?page=Thread&postID=209122#post 209122

Assuming you are daisy chaining your account. You can get raf xp on your lowbies with a linked 80. So for example if you have A(80)->B->C, A recruited B who recruited C. If you only ever run A and B then no you will not get raf exp if B is more than 4 levels lower. If you include C in the party. B still has a valid link with C so it will still get the 3x exp. I think this is what Stoat was getting at which would be correct regarding the RAF situation.
A dedicated healer is nice but not necessary for heroics if you are running 4 shamans. I have my shamans alternate LHW on my tank and for heavy oh sh*t moments I have a macro for 2 of my shamans to stop what hey are doing and both do a LHW which is usually more then enough to get my tank out of harms way, leaving room for the alternating LHWs to continue to bring my tank back up to full health.
I only started using this method cuz I felt the healer was only fully utilized when I was undergeared. But once you get to a point where your healer is semi geared he tends to do very little unless it was AOE heavy fights. so I figured it would be better to utilize her to dps and throw the tank alternating heals. I started off with alot of overhealing and getting close to ooming on my shamans but have since found a nice rotation that works so far.
I have a dedicated healer, but also a "healer dps" key that I spam whenever the fight is easy, so I get the best of both worlds.
Winner. No one ever said the dedicated healer can't dps when allowed.Originally Posted by 'Tonyx',index.php?page=Thread&postID=209137#post20 9137
