Has anyone kept a running total of the # of SM runs it takes to go from 25-45?

Ya know I just thought of something... does Molten Core give xp? I wonder how much... Considering some level 80 classes can solo most bosses, Im wondering how much xp they give when they die. Is it huge? Or just meh?

No idea on Molten Core, but I am going with meh. Reason boosting works so well even with the low xp gains is that the speed and number of kills makes it worth while. Sure, you can kill that big nasty for 1000xp. Or you can kill 20 scrubs in the same time for 200xp each.

But that won't matter as much with a party of 5. Still lots of mobs beat a few bosses like SBJ said.

Ya, lots of mobs with 125-150K health and you don't get group XP bonus to boot. (or is XP cut by 1/2 also ? I don't remember.) I can guarantee that the mobs / bosses don't give 25X-50X as much XP which is how much they'd need to be in order to even come close to what you can get in a normal instance.
It's a neat idea but totally unworkable, feel free to try it and tell me if I'm wrong but I am 99% sure I am not.

Level 1-8: questing - often single and not multi
Level 8-14: Ragefire Chasm
Level 14-20: Wailing Caverns
Level 20-40: Scarlet Monastery
Level 40-55: BRD then LBRS
Level 55-65: Ramparts then Blood Furnace

I mostly approve of this instance list, except I replaced Wailing Caverns with SFK and I included the first large room of UBRS with LBRS.

BRD is definately underused. Using my 80 DK I would just plow up the Road, kill several groups in the room with the Lock, rinse and repeat.

I tried a full run of LBRS, but decided dealing with the trolls wasn't my idea of fun. Or fast.

Up until this past weekend, I'd always quested till I was ready for SFK. I got a level 40 friend to run me through RFC this weekend. Wasn't the fastest thing ever, but my god that was good exp.

I also think WC is a bad idea. I mean, probably more exp per run than SFK, but it's a whooooole lot bigger, so I don't think it'd be anywhere near as quick.

My experience only goes up to boosting via RAF to L34 so far, but I've had a very good time of it

* New duo quests two-box to L8
* 80 boosts them thru RFC til 15 (about 6 runs)
* 80 boosts them thru SFK 15-20 (about 6-7 runs)
* 80 boosts them thru SM Cath 20-35 (I'm at about 20 runs now but I'm doing it so fast I keep hitting the instance reset lockout, even with looting everything I kill!)
* 80 boosts them thru partial ST 35-45 (see the video somebody posted in the movies forum - that's what I plan to do but modified for a hunter)
* 80 boosts them thru UD Strat 45-60 (this will be slower, can't handle as much in one pull at this level)
