Default What classes for 10 box?

Just set up 4 RAFs to add a mage/priest/druid to my existing pally/4x shaman team to make the option of a mixed team.

Now, I might at some point want to move to a 10 box - So my question then is - What classes would be optimal? Mainly I'm unsure of the 2nd tank (I don't want another pally :P).

So, my current plan will have the following at 80:
    Pally
    4x Shaman
    Priest
    Druid
    Mage

I think I might level "by hand" 60-80 - So will most likely level a tank with the other 60s, which one would you go for? War/Dru/DK/another pal - Assuming I want to 10 box at some point? Also, do you see that I should opt for some other DPS classes in there? lock/hunter?

I think every tanking class is possible but paladins and DK`s are just easyer. Tho I don`t think a warrior would do bad as an offtank with a nice tanking rotation, I see no reason why it should be a lot worse then a DK.

So I would personally (might do as well) take a warrior, he brings additional HP to the raid which is quite usefull.

Besides that I would take a warlock, he has some nice dps and some usefull tools to help you out. I would not go with a hunter. I personally think he is to "complicated" to implement in damage rotations with the rest of the group but that is just me maybe. Plus his trueshotaura gives AP, not really usefull for a boxer without melee.

    So:

    Pally MT
    Holy Priest
    Elem Shaman
    Mage (spec tbd)
    Boomkin

Druid OT (can be either healer or range dps offspec) - Will have Warrior or DK sitting at 80 as an option to.
    Resto Sham
    Warlock (spec tbd)
    Elem Shaman
    Elem Shaman

I'm confident that the above can do it, but any opinion if I should stack locks/mages/shadow priests/hunters instead of the 2 "extra" elemental shamans? It would need to bring significant value as I already have the shamans and non of the others

heres the setup me and the gf are building atm. just lvling the extras atm.

    DK tank
Pali Tank - off spec holy for when only 1 tank needed
2xdisc priest - glyphed holy nova rocks for healing multibox teams as we're always next to each other
2x ele sham - totmes especialy cleansing to make your life much easier
warlock - SS, extra stam, loads of nice bits
boomkin - spell haste buffs etc
hunter - 3% raid dmg and takes all the wasted melle dps gear
mage or hunter - will have both as we had a spot in the lvling group so making an extra hunter. mage can make food b4 the raid anyway heh.

think its a pretty solid 10 man tbh, i cant think of anything Id want to drop.

DK if you can handle it. 13% magic dmg thats always on the mob and if you have a mage youl probably have speced torment of the weak and the DK will always have melle slow on and so thats another 12% mage dmg.

FWIW I asked the same question a few weeks ago...

    I have DK, 4x Shaman.

I am leveling a second team that is Paladin, Priest, Warlock, Hunter and Druid.

I have noticed that leveling with non-elites (i.e. gimp mobs), the Hunter DPS (Survival spec and Beastmaster spec) is very poor. This is more related to my setup of macros and so forth I suspect than anything else.

I will say that perfecting macros is so much more difficult with a mixed team than a single or 2-class team.

Also, the reason I have chosen these classes was outlined in this thread by others with more experience 10-boxing.
World of Warcraft - Bronzebeard (Horde)
Primary team - 4 Blood DK, Disc Priest (110, ilvl 880-ish)

Your basic composition is identical to my own. If you plan on eventually raiding Ulduar, I'd really recommend two priests. The mass AoE healing is endlessly useful for keeping things simple and straightforward. I'm also fond of having a second paladin; the second set of blessings is a nice bonus.

Lately I've been toying with the idea of dropping two of my shaman for either two additional priests or a priest and a druid, mostly for multi-role purposes. The druid would alternate between tank/dps roles and the priest would be there to cover additional AoE healing if ever needed and otherwise be in shadowform. I'm not certain how convenient druid tanking is while boxing nor am I sure about how much ( if any ) this would reduce the tank burst damage that I often find myself falling victim to in Ulduar, but any improvement would be welcome.

A consideration for multiboxing groups is loot.

    How many classes want:
    - Tanking Plate, Healer Plate, DPS Plate.
    - Caster Mail, Melee Mail.
    - Caster Leather, DPS Leather.
    - Cloth.

Ideally, spread your group around these for the least overlap.
Of course an optimal group to kill things is more important than a group which fights less over gear and or wastes less, but its a consideration.

go frost - replenishment for raid, much much less intenisve so less management required. no procs so less manament required, adds 5% crit debuff, easy as hell to macro just spam frost bolt + cooldowns macro.

This is the best advice ever. Many casters rely on talent procs and situational effects to make the high dps, ice mage is one of the few that do not require it. As a multi-boxer its hard to catch and utilize procs, this makes your life much easier.
