One PC, 5 WoW

I've been upgrade my computer.

- Q9550, 2,8Ghz
- 8Go RAM
- Geforce GTX 260
- Win XP 64 bits
- My 5 WoW have own folder on a seperate hard disk each, all have graphics at low

And when I launch 5 WoW at same time (Main: 1680x1050 on monitor #1; Alts: 620x512 on monitor #2), my computer have difficulties sometimes (In towns generaly, without players around me).

I don't understand why... I just don't have 2 graphic cards in SLI mode, but my PC configuration is same to:

Q9550 10man boxer

I just thought i'd share my recent upgrade info. Until recently i was running an i7 920 @ 2.8ghz, GT8800 and 6gb DDR3 ram. With 5 clients I had massive issues with FPS in dalaran and whilst flying on some routes (through Zul'drak mostly) to the order of about 1-4 fps. Basically hell. I did notice through Coretemp64 which I always have running, that in Dalaran i was using 5.9 of my 6gb ram which meant quite clearly I was memory bound. So ordering another 6GB DDR3 and a GTX285 I now sit at about 25fps in dalaran and no longer have flight issues, using around 7.5gb in Dal. When instancing its common to sit around the 5/6gb mark previously and 6/12gb now. So its important to realise that more ram = better.

my graphic settings are all still quite low, so the GTX 285 would not have had that great an effect imo.. but yes i did install both upgrades simultaneously :P

I don't really think your C2D E8400 will die cause of 4 or more WoW clients.

Am running a E8400 with a GTX 260 and 4 GB RAM (Win XP) without any problems for a couple of months now. I don't think a 5th client would kill my CPU or cause extreme slowdowns in gameplay... (am just 4-boxing cause my wife is playing her account to complete a group for heroics)
