I'm actually leveling 5 mages now to 80 just for the whole "4 mirror images + water elementals and focus fire" idea.. Glad to hear it's a pain in the ass :-)
Being played by 5 separate players though, keep in mind. They were spread out in a star, very coordinated, popped ice block one at a time, Were able to switch targets independently, etc. I don't think it's viable in arena multiboxed, but could be fun in WG or battlegrounds. But even then you're probably just going to get cleaved to death and your mirrors asplode with 1 AOE.
