Thread: melee/ranged.

  1. #1

    Default melee/ranged.

I'm sure this has been answered before, If so sorry for my incompetence. I have recently started a double lock team (I'm new to boxing and seems lock's are easymode). using RAF the locks will be 60 in no time, so I would like to try something a bit more difficult, rogue/hunter to be exact. The only problem I am seeing is the rogue and hunter pet only doing damage since the hunter will be in the null-zone. ( to far for melee to close for ranged) anyway to fix this other then key binding a movement button on the hunter to cancel follow?

Yep if you're driving from the rogue, have a keybind that makes the hunter /follow you. Have another keybind that sends the up arrow to cause the hunter to stop follow as you approach your melee target. If you're using Jamba, make sure to turn off follow strobing otherwise it'll just end up following you again.

I thought they got rid of the Dead Zone for hunters a long time ago? Either your close enough to melee or your auto shooting.

Yep its 5 yards now. Basically just be one step out of melee range and you can shoot.

Here's an idea I use for my boomkin and dk setup. First enable a key on your rogue for interact and turn on click to move. Next tie that same key on your hunter to pet attack. Now when you steer with your hunter and send in your pet, the rogue goes with it, just have to spam the key a bit if the mobs move out of range of your rogue tho. Only thing I wouldn't like about this setup is the rogue is stealthed and a ton slower good luck!

Hmmm my main for BC was a hunter, can i never noticed a dead zone after that patch. But then again i was not on auto follow for most of my digital life.

On my hunter group if a mob actually gets to me before dying it always ends up being melee'd by my main and auto shot by the followers. I have never really seen a dead zone at all since they changed that.

If they end up aggroed to a follower all I do is hit the back button for half a second and all the toons but who has aggro get in shooting range. A hunter shouldn't be a problem at all as a follower to a rogue, just make sure you get a hit off with the rogue first to get the aggro. Or shoot it from a distance and hit em up from behind with the rogue as it is running towards the hunter.
