    Default Quad Core for 5-boxing?

    Hi all,

I'm attempting to run 5 copies of World of Warcraft on a single PC with 2 Monitors.

I have no idea the processing power required to achieve this. Although while perusing these forums, most say Quad Cores are necessary for 5 copies, what is required for the Video Card?

    My setup would include:
    Intel Q6600 CPU
    2x2GB DDR modules
    Probably just use onboard sound
19" 4:3 Samsung LCD monitor for the 4 Alts
22" Widescreen LCD Monitor for the Main

Is a top-end video card necessary for this? Or can I get a mid-end and just have the resolution of the alts set as low as it can go?

In my old PC I have an ATI x800 GT. Was thinking I could use this for the Main's monitor and buy another card for the Alts. I dunno, have no clue

Any input on specs of video required to 5-box on a single PC would be appreciated.

Also, how reliable is EBAY for buying random parts? I'm not looking to get this done right away, and can afford to wait for deals to come up.

I'm also hoping this system will be able to run at least 3 copies of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning when that finally comes out. I realise the specs aren't released, but we'll see how that goes.

    Thanks in advance,
    Lokked

The Geforce 8800GT is a pretty economical card that will do you just fine.

Personally I'd recommend the new Nvidia 8800GT 512MB. Solid Card, Solid performance and probably the best value for money, Especially if you are 5-boxing on one PC.

I dont know much about video cards, other than the fact that I bought a Visiontek 2600xt Pro 512mb from Best Buy and it couldn't handle 5boxing. Polygon and Effect mutilation. Hard locking of my system. I have no clue where the x800 rates in comparison to that. I ended up getting a 8800GT and all is well.

x800 would not be enough power to run mutiple WoWs like that.

8800GT card if you can afford the extra cash is an excellent choice but the 8600 series will fit the bill just dandy if you cant.

quad core isnt required but given how cheap they are no reason not to snag one.

My dual core amd 6000 runs 5 reasonably well with a 7900gt and only 2gb ram... chugs on load up but I'm pretty sure more ram will solve that.
