I don't think think it's an insult to point out the fact that sam has a history of claiming for facts things he has no clue about.

Not that I had a problem with it, but mabye if you made it more of a Fuzzy-Warm-Kitten disclaimer it wouldn't offend anyone.

My point to the OP of this thread, someone will always have a problem with what someone else says no matter how they word it.
When your reputation proceeds you in a negative way, these types of responses are going to be seen more often from people who have been impacted by dealing with it in the past.

I'm not bothered one way or the other by Sam-Death-Walker's ( aka Spam-Death-Talker ) posts as I skip/tune out things that don't interest me or I don't find useful. (I'm married and have lots of practice at it! :P ).

Problem is....people behave badly, then home in on a rational part of the bad behavior and think it makes it ok. The flame post had no place in that thread and the mods ignored the bad behavior becuase they thought something about the general theme was reasonable.

For me, because of Moorea's previous behavior, I tend to take an acrimonius position when he steps out of line, similar to other people's treatment of sam. (Hypocritical, moi?)

I am not part of any sam fan club. I just tolerate eccentricity and non-conformity better than you. I think it is a quality. you obviously don't
sam is certainly no more arrogant than a lot of people on this forum, but because they conform, they are given freedom to roam.

I guess I do like him though. He is interesting and makes me laugh.

I could say more about intolerance, but I suspect it would lead to an even more unpleasant thread. so I won't

i have read sam's threads. and no, i am not prejudging him by the "EQ community" and whatever happened there. i do not care.

you bringing that animosity here is a problem, and just causes more drama.

if his posts are crap... then people will disregard them and his 'value' will drop. following up every post he makes with some snide or rude comment does not help the community and devalues the community spirit as a whole

I have been a member of these forums for a little over a year now and I have read a ton of threads about Sam and whatnot. The fact of the matter is, Moorea could have simply said, "I disagree, please do not spend money without doing any of your own research" and then posted his opinion on the technology.

I personally have a really good friend who I could not stand for the first year and a half I knew him. Remember that there are some people in this world without filters and because they don't come at us the way we want/expect them to they tend to rub us the wrong way.

well.. LONG before i was able to recognize any issues with that employee, i would recognize the other employees that were harassing him/her constantly... in the company cafe, outside the bathrooms, in the hallway, in the parking lot... basically anywhere they found him/her.

and i would can ALL of the harassers immediately... if not sooner

that type of unprofessional behavior is just completely unacceptable

I take objection with my post in question being "harassing" or "insulting" but I will rest my case too and as I said I will ignore Sam flame baits from now on, sadly someone else will fall for it; and AGAIN, WORSE, some noob will take it as face value "professional poster" and end up resenting the d-b.com site as a result (to me it's almost similar to the tim issue at this point)

If he is being hurtful to this community through arrogance and incorrect information why don't you just ban him? It would be a more elegant solution than to have to read the countless anti-sam posts.

For every 1 post he makes we have to read 10 "man sam is wrong" posts. Regardless of whether he is or not, Rob nailed it... the haters drown out the initial post 100%.
