I do feel that Sam's posts gets shot down or an unneeded red flag quite often on this forum almost to the point that it feels like discrimination. I don't care for the guy myself but to me thats almost worst than a ban.

It's uncommon for such action to happen against a thread or a poster unless it was reported. in this case there was MULTIPLE posts reported. So action was taking. This is not a case of moderator discrimination, this is a case of a community informing the mods that something is wrong. I don't discriminate against anyone, I'm fully open to giving ANYONE a fair shot to be heard. Case in point? I agreed with Moorea's post when I have a history of disagreeing and modding Moorea's comments. Please don't scream discrimination when you've no idea of the background of why someone (or their posts) draws moderator attention. If you feel something is done in error, please bring it up, lets discuss things. But calling discrimination is a bit far. If I truly wanted to discriminate, I'd start throwing around bans, but I'm not because I'm just here to keep the peace and hopefully do what I can to make people's experiences here better.

I didn't mean for my statement to point fingers at the moderators and I apologize if it offended any of you. I am not saying anyone is actually discriminating against Sam. I indicated it feels almost like discrimination whether by community or moderator. Again I apologize if it came off that way. I am not trying to cry wolf. I understand Sam's history for posts. What I meant to convey, was that Sam's posts , whether founded or unfounded, are almost immediately shot down, bickered, flamed, or whatever. This is in no way purely by the moderators distaste or dislike for him, I understand. His posts get reported if they go off track or whatever.

I have negative views about Sam myself, don't get me wrong there. But I don't hate the guy or think he is bad by any means.

I guess I just don't like seeing how he is being treated is all. I just think his treatment by community is almost worse off than those of Tims/Evilseeds ban, even though those were for different reasons. It feels like he's getting the really really short end of the stick.

^^ I agree with Enndoh on this one, it seems clear you're cherry picking what you're reading, instead of the entire posts. That's fine, do as you wish, but I consider this topic dead.

I don't think think it's an insult to point out the fact that sam has a history of claiming for facts things he has no clue about. he theorycrafts a lot, based on wrong assumption and no understanding and no experience of the game and you can see the results in wow (3x RAF, 10 months, to get a handful of toons to 60, his highest being a 61 mage with +8 agility dagger... etc...) yet he continues to brag and brag about wonderful copyrighted theories and wonderful hardware solutions - I just guess that if his hardware advice is even remotely like his wow play it needs to be warned against before people spend money following them...



ps: since I checked last sam got his 10 months old pally "main" to 62, woot... grats... need 6 computers with wow in memory for that


About sam getting the short end of the stick; I think people are amazingly patient and tolerant of his behavior actually... there should be a limit of how much bragging and cluelessness one is allowed to exhibit (and I'm sure some feel the same about me; it's all relative/in the eye of the beholder :-) ) overall I think sam's contributions; including the "drama" *he* generates are a negative contribution - I wouldn't mind it if it was free for all and it could be clearly shown in signature or avatar or "quality" rating for people coming new to the site to know to ignore/take with a huge grain of salt what he says authoritatively - I guess I'll stop responding to his threads and hopefully someone else can point out diplomatically the next time he "contributes" when it's not based on any actual experience - hopefully no newcomer will get mislead...
