Thread: Damn you guys!

    Default Damn you guys!

    Reading about everybody's 3+ boxing experiences has seriously been making me drool. I'm currently boxing two (on existing accounts, so no RAF /cry), pally priest to 80 and loving it and wondering what it'd be like to box three.

    I will be, once the paladin/priest duo dings 80 and I have three 80's then (hunter, pala, priest) activate a 3rd account via RAF and boost: using the 40 free days from RAF and CD key purchase to add a 3rd vanilla account and instance boost 4 sets of toons to 60:
    * rogue + warlock
    * warrior + shaman1
    * mage + shaman2
    * shaman3 + shaman4

    Then /gift 59 levels to account2 twice: lock and shaman1 gift me a 60 druid; shaman2 & shaman4 gift me a 60 shaman5

    So my first step after doing all that would be to ugrade the vanilla wow account to TBC so the toons can level past 60.
    Then I transfer one of the shamans to account1 (because I'd have 3 on acct2 and 2 on acct3 at this point), and first foray into triple-boxing would be a three-shaman team, elemental of course.

    Then my rough plan at that point would be to just level them to 68.5 so they can gain full rested to 70 (the level cap on the TBC 3rd account), then start up two more 3-box teams:
    * warrior + 2 shamans (first multi-class triple boxing, thus just two classes to deal with to ease learning). Get them to 68.5
    * My existing 61 DK on main acct + rogue on 2nd account plus druid xferred to 3rd account. First 3-class triple-boxing, also involving boxing two melee. This will really test my mettle.
    * Create a new DK on 2nd acct, level to 60, then join him with the mage & lock and triple-box another team to 68.5
    * Finally buy WotLK for 3rd acct and have four three-box teams to level to 80.

    Total tally: (all spread over verra much time only buying one thing at a time - I have limited wow playtime I estimate a year to complete this all)
    * Four character transfers required @ $28cdn ea.
    * (already own CD key for 3rd vanilla acct, unused yet): $0
    * One TBC expansion: $24cdn
    * Two WotLK expansions @ $49ea cdn (hopefully price will drop by time it's time to buy 'em, also my 2nd account right now is only TBC so the first WOTLK will be my first expense hurdle)

    Having FIFTEEN L80's (five 3-man teams for next expansion), including two DK's and *FIVE* shamans: priceless

    2 boxing is ok for just leveling a couple toons, But i think 5 boxing provides so much more. You can farm heroics and badges by yourself, you can run whatever dungeon whenever you want, all the drops are yours!! Lots of enchant mats lol. Plus the gold from dailys! I can't wait to get my first team to 80, But i'm about to start over on Magtheridon to join the other horde boxers!

    "You can't just box one."

    I started off the same way as falsfire. Just mage, then shammy (mage on PC, shammy on laptop). But if I can do two, why not more? Talked to Aradar (now on WoW Hiatus) when I saw his Blue Man Group (his guild name, all male draenei, Pali + 4xShammy) running around in Outlands and he pointed me to these forums. Had Dell pimp my PC and RAF was released right about the same time. The rest is history. Now I do heroics whenever I want, able to knock some out and being able to log out again in about 30-40 minutes.

    Raiding just isn't on my agenda, as it tends to be too big a time sink, or runs later than I prefer (downside to being in the eastern timezone).

    I've had two accounts on a PC each, for pretty much all of my wow time.
    Last summer I got Keyclone and a 3rd account.
    I liked the 3-boxing quite a bit, but a few days later decided on 2 more accounts.

    If you have the systems (hardware) or a computer strong enough to run five accounts, 5-boxing is amazing compared to boxing fewer.
    In the end, its all fun anyway.

    Much as I'd love to, I need to first of all admit my wife does not even know I have TWO accounts. She's pretty tight over our spending lol, damned economy and two years in a row with wage freezes at my work, trying to support a family of three on one paycheque with a mortgage and other debt in the picture... Two I could probably justify by the fact it's only $30/mo, but five? $75usd would be about $100cdn/mo for me and let's just say that if I wanted to justify spending that on a "video game" right now things wouldn't be pleasant around my house

    hehe, same here. Tried 2 first with a trail account, went 3 and now thinking of 5. No point stopping at 3 go all the way mate.

    I made the "mistake" and did an instance with my 3 box and loved it. Slow dps but it worked. Now I am in the process of trying a 5-box with 2 trail accounts to see if it's even possible on my hardware.

    Edit: Again, same here, the montly fee is a mofo, hope blizz will give discounts in the future for multiboxers I only plan to lvl to 60 (things might change later on) so I don't need to buy expansions for my slave accounts. But I guess 3 is better than 2

    If you're thinking about 3-boxing, and will need to level a new toon, then I strongly suggest leveling 3 new toons with the thought of what your 5-boxing team would look like if you ever to make the plunge. The last think you'll want to do after leveling 2 to 80, then 1 to 80, is move to 5 boxing and have to level another 2 to 80... I can almost guarantee you'll be burned out.
