    Default The Shadowmoon Experiment

A buddy of mine who is currently RAF-boosting some toons made an interesting proposal to me the other day. His main is an 80 mage, fully naxx-10/25 and partly Ulduar-10 geared (in other words pretty uber). When he wanted to level tailoring, he needed a bunch of Netherweave and found the best place to do so is to go AOE crazy on the terrace outside black temple in SMV. He made some impressive claims as to how fast he could clear every mob in the area and how fast they respawned.

So what he wants ME to do, is...since both my accounts are TBC+ (one wotlk, one TBC), whereas his slaves are on vanilla wow accounts, he wants to get me summoned by a lock out to one of several "safe spots" in that area where my L35 toons can stand and not get hit by anything, and then he's going to go AOE crazy and see how much exp I actually get.

I have no idea, I mean there's obviously going to be some pretty heavy exp nerfs for being a L35 and the mobs being killed are 68+, but even still...how much could it be?

Stay tuned, we're going to do a trial run sometime in the near future.

I thought there was an experience cap based off the level of your character. So even if you were 35 and had a lvl 80 kill a lvl 70 creature it would give you the same exp as if he killed a level 60 or 50.

There could be, but the thing is outland creatures have such high exp numbers compared to Azeroth creatures (huge jump when you go thru the dark portal).

Also, the tremendous respawn rate and how fast he can kill them, and not worrying about having to leave and reset an instance has us wondering if doing this might be an alternative to instance boosting, provided the weenie accounts are TBC so they can be summoned out there.

I tried something similar to this today. I summoned a lvl 21 Shaman to Falcon Watch, partied him with my 73 DK and killed a few hellboars (lvl 60 or so).

The shaman got 42xp per kill....

I don't know that things would work any differently in Shadowmoon, unless you were pulling a truckload of mobs and killing them before they sought out your lowbies. (I had two hellboars charge past the guards and right into Falcon Watch just to get at my shaman. He was dead before I realized what was going on. DK was looking the other way, thinking they were safe, what with being in the village and all....)
    RaF is done.
Currently soloing a Draenei Hunter through Northrend. When he's earning rest I'm running one of the sets of twins: Tauren Hunters, Draenei Mages, Night Elf Druids or Orc Shamen.
