Default SM GY: two-boxable at L32?

Just an opinion plz, I did all the other SM wings with a guildie turboing me through it (for the quest, which rewarded my fledgling prot pally an awesome tanking sword, esp. with Crusader on it BWAHAHA). Anyways, we didn't do GY due to running out of time.

I'd like to do it for the instance achievement and also because my priest got the spellpower dagger from library, and now I want the spellpower offhand from GY.

Think a 32 prot pally and 32 holy priest dual-boxed by me can handle the GY?

EDIT: Removed armory links, they were out of date anyways.

I would seriously doubt it. Isn't GY mobs level around 30-34ish? It may be possible, but a) it will take forever with just your pally doing damage, and b) I would think you would have severe mana issues at that level with your priest healing and DPSing.

    Thanks for the input.

Naturally, I'm going to try it at least once anyways

The mobs are 29-32 elite in there. Lots of trash are non-elite, and the elite trash has about 2.5k hp, the two bosses about 7k. I've watched vids of people two-manning it (2 separate players mind you) at around my level, and they succeeded. The boss fights are long though, but fortunately they don't actually DO alot of damage to you, they just have a ton of HP, so my priest won't be constantly spamming heals and can get alot of mana back through simply not casting and wanding the boss.

Going to give it a go tonight If it fails miserably then oh well, lesson learned. Not like repairs cost alot at this level anyways

I'd say it is possible. Try to conserve mana by only casting the large healing spells when you really need it and make sure to have some good mana potions for the bosses. Strategically use pally heals and lay on hands to let your priest regen mana in combat.

all but Cath probably. Cath ranges from 36-39 lvl mobs with a 41 boss. I think you would be missing and getting crushed alot.

    Thx guys.

I'm only planning on doing GY. Already done the other 3 wings.

I'm actually more concerned about the trash running and pulling more continuously and the pally going OOM from consecrating to build AE threat whenever fresh adds come in. The bosses don't worry me much, they'll hit me for 60-200 dmg, I have 1900hp on the pally and that's really easy to heal through from the priest. They just have alot of hp, the bosses, so I expect the fights against a boss to take 5 min or so.

I would think it's possible. Keep the paladin in full defensive mode: devotion aura, [s]blessing[/s] seal of light, [s]seal[/s] judgement of wisdom (or light if mana isn't an issue). Try to stay conservative on mana and take it nice and slow. Try to avoid anything that drains mana too fast, like consecration, unless you really need it, maybe just use one at the start of the fight. I'd try switching to retribution aura first before relying on consecration too much for aggro. I'd try to keep the paladin healed with just Renew from the Priest as much as possible, that way you avoid any spikes in aggro on them. Try to pull far away from other groups or around corners in the dungeon to reduce the chance they run and pull more. Remember that the Priest has Fade (Rank 3) at that level to quickly drop some agg.

I've done all of cathedral with two 38ish paladins (both fully prot, playing with a friend). All of our healing was just from the passive light/wisdom; with two paladins, we were able to keep both [s]seal[/s] judgement of wisdom and light on the main target. On bosses, the one not tanking may need to throw an occasional heal on the other to help out. Of course, we really didn't have to worry about who got aggro, and was actually a good thing if we split aggro. This was also a really long time ago, so the dynamics of the paladin may have changed a bit at that level.

Yeah, I don't have BoL yet and that only applies to paladin heals anyways IIRC, not priest heals. I'd use mostly passive healing from my Crusader weapon, Judgement of Light, Renew from the priest, and yeah just consecrate at the beginning of a pull to get threat on the pack so the priest's first renew tick doesn't get all their attention. Consecrate again if I get new adds to get aggro on them.

It should be fun, looking forward to it tonight. Hopefully my first run yields what I want: the Orb of the Forgotten Seer for my priest. It's a 50% drop, either that or the Bloodmage Mantle will drop.

    Doh!

Sorry, I mixed up a few terms there. I updated my previous post to reflect what I *meant* to say. Excuse the confusion.

I am dual boxing prot and ret pallies through every dungeon for my level upto 46. Currently 2 manning ZF. The damage output from the ret is nice, while the tank heals himself. Only problems i came up against was getting interrupted mid heal, solved by adding flash of light to my hotbar for shorter cast time :-)

    Defo possible.
