Default Would multi-boxing be practical with my given situation and desires? (world of warcraft, yes wikied ;P)

    Here is my situation,

while ive always thought multiboxing to be extremely kewl and am envious of those who can do it at a hight level, i know i dont have the ambition and dedication it would take to be a serious boxer. BUT, i think it might serve a purpose for me.

    Backround:
    I have a 80 hunter + 80 dk and these would b the 2 characters i would run.
    1) while obviously these 2 characters are not ideal candidates to run with one another, can it b done?

    Dilema:
I have no gold and would like to run dailies on both guys. Obviously, running them at the same time is ideal is it feasable?

SO essintial with my characters, would it be worth investing the time to research dual boxing in the hopes i can burn thru the dailies twice as fast?

thanks so much guys, all help is appreciate, even if seems to be a given or extremely obvious.

I'm afraid the crux of what you're asking is impossible for anybody to answer, because "is it worth it" is totally subjective.

You need to buy a new WoW key, plus expansions. You need to shell out for a second account every month. If you want the simplest "just turn it on and go" multiboxing solution, you might also want to buy Keyclone.

To some people, that's alot of cash up-front for something you really just want to use to make gold from.

The duo you're talking about don't synergise as well as other pairs would, but yes it's doable. There's lots of discussion around here talking about boxing melee classes with or without ranged classes.

In terms of exactly what dailies are multibox friendly, there's a very recent guide in this thread over here.

Hopefully that arms you with enough information to help you make your own decision.

Good advice from Otlecs as usual.

I think boxing for most people does come down to whether they are time poor or money poor. Whilst it does cost more in real cash than having multiple characters on the one account, it does mean you can achieve a lot more with the time that you can spend on WoW. From the sound of things, this is what you want to do and it should be quite simple to set up (although as otlecs mentioned, there are generally better combos, any pair is workable).

What it comes down to is whether the extra expense justifies you requiring less time to achieve your goals in WoW. Keep in mind this is true to a certain extent only however. If you want to max both characters out, then you are going to need 2 x the gold even though you are making it twice as fast. Given you are looking at a pair, it will not improve your ability to do heroics/raids etc. so again you are still generally going to need to do double the runs.

So basically, running a duo is going to allow you to do dailies faster for gold, but won't increase your maximum earning potential due to the quest cap so you just need to decide whether the extra cash outlay is worth doing this

    Cheers
