Dealing with idiots

I know its been asked before but how do you put up with people?

The other day I was in stonetalon and I needed to kill one guy for a quest. On my way there someguy gives me the whole "WTF / cool / that's awesome"
speech. He then continues to follow me to the quest mob which I then kill. Upon my killing the mob this guy goes nuts. He starts calling me a hacker and a cheater which I can deal with, he's uninformed. But the thing that got me going was the whole time he kept calling me kid like I was some 14 year old that was cheating. In fact said guy eventually took this whole thing to General chat which sparked a 45 minute debate in which everyone else in the zone was on my side.

Seriously, how do you deal with idiots like this?

I report them for verbal harassment.

Honestly? Encourage them to report you and stfu. If they continue to spam you, report them for verbal harassment and /ignore them.

They typically leave you alone after they get the "talk to the hand" response from the GMs themselves.

GMs are very sympathetic, I have found. Just remember to tell them the name of the char, and the approximate server time that they pst/say/yell/General Chat spammed you those painfully slanderous and hurtful things.

I dont /ignore anyone, I just dont respond.

I get so many tells its not funny and have actually missed real tells from friends alts because I think its another fan/hater/curious person/idiot.

The worst time is people in battlegrounds try talk to me and I'm like DUDE IM BUSY FIGHTING , while they stand their typing tells to me while I either get rolled by a mob or are killing ppl.
