Level 80 Boosting

Long time no posted, debating coming off my break to level a mixed team using RAF - Now, I don't want a gazillion of level 60s as the end product from the RAF, as I don't foresee ever 10 boxing - But what I want is a tank, a boomkin, a holy priest and 2 random dps to level from 60-75ish as a team, where one dps is swapped for a mage and at 80 the team will be pally tank, boomking, elemental shammy, mage (spec undecided), holy priest.

Now, as you can see, I probably don't need 5, or even 4 new accoutns to get those characters to 60 ASAP - But here is a question:

A) Does boosing with a level 80 work decently for 1-4 linked accounts? (booster->acc1->acc2...etc) Or does it completely negate bonus? Or is level 80 so high it kills xp versus questing?

B) When boosting, is a full group significanntly better than boosting just 2 characters?

Money isn't a major concern, so the way I'm thinking my options right now is:

i) Pally (80) boosting 4 linked accounts - This would be the most expensive, but leave me with lots of gifted characters if I ever want to play them; Of course it requires boosting to still work (I seem to remember RAF boosting being stated as to be nerfed).

ii) Pally (80) boosting 2 linked accounts - That's all I really need, and if it's faster I might as well save the 2 extra accounts. Again this is depending on boosting not being nerfed.

iii) If boosting is nerfed, have 3 linked accounts that just quest level to 60 (any opinions on how much more hassle 5 accounts would be to quest level than 3?)

So, If level 80 account is not RAF linked, but the 4 "bostees" are, they will get RAF bonus even though bosted?

My previous bosting was with a level 70, any thoughts on how being 80 impacts it?

The high level CAN be linked to get raf bonus. You just need a link involved where both recruiter and recruitee are within range of the xp.
So booster->acc1->acc2 will work because they get the bonus from the link between acc1 and acc2.

As for using a lvl 80, it won't change the xp at all. You won't get any less xp but it should go faster with better stat, spells, and gear.

Are you sure about that ? I remember I did a few boosting experiments with various toons level 66-73 and I'm pretty sure the xp was lower the higher was the booster
(turned out my prot pally at 66 was actually not only more xp but faster as a booster than my then 73 DK)

Also unless you hit some cap of some kind a higher level booster will take more exp, but not much I dont figure as 1000 divided by 80 isnt a lot less then 1000 divded by 70, but there might be a cap if you are using a high level to kill low level mobs. Instance is different then "real world (lol)" and is "not working as intended".

That thread mentions someone saying boosting, even with an unlinked character, don't work since 3.0.2 - Can anyone confirm that boosting still works?

I'm debating getting 2 new RAFs and just boost them up and transfer to get the characters I need for my mixed team - But I would much rather get the mount and free month on my main account than not - So if someone could confirm linked boosting working that would be even better :P

Well you would think so. I just tested an unlinked in noninstance and it worked. Let me see if I can test a linked in a few hours.

I just split off to 10 boxing a lil while go, so when i bought 5 new accounts I lvled 4 to 60 using RAF boosting w/ my 80 pally unlinked. I did questing till 15, stocks till 25, then sm till 43 ( did one round of ZF to knock out all quests) then from 45-60 LBRS =) did it in about 12 hours. Which is including training time, running around, and idling LOL.



Oh and I did this like a month go, so its after 3.0.2. Gonna do another bunch soon =)

Ya it looks to work in the "real world" didnt test instance but the lowbies got raf.
