Well my first suggestion would be to clear out all Cartographer files in your WoW directory [they're hidden in multiple places] and do a super clean brand new install of Cartographer. If you've got any Gathering files [mining nodes/herb nodes/etc] you can back those up if you'd like. Then get the newest up-to-date version from Curse. Do a 'manual' install regardless of whether you've got some automatic installer or not. Try running Cartographer all by itself after the brand new install and see if you still get that error. If not....enable a few addons at a time and continue testing. Sometimes an addon will throw out a false error due to another addon conflicting.

If that doesn't happen to work and it's still broken even when it's all by itself....then you've got the following choices:

1 - Suck it up and use the default Blizzard UI map until a newer, more updated, and working [for you] version comes out.
2 - Use bloated Carbonite for it's super awesome elite map addon.
3 - Browse at your leisure for a new map addon here at Curse.

If you're just looking for instance loot and other loot....you could always try out Atlas.

I know, myself, that I used to use 50,000 addons during the BC era....yes....fifty thousand [~300MB in the Interface folder]. I'd get retarded errors all the time when a little Blizzard patch update came along....and of course everything was broken on big patch days. Recently, I went through my list of addons and thought, "do I really need this or can I honestly play the game without it?" Now my errors have drastically decreased because there are so few addons that could conflict with each other.
