problem I have always had with wow and "the fastest leveling" is if your willing to ONLY level with rested you will level significantly faster IG time than RL time.

    Eh?

    Surely In-Game time = Real-Life time?

There was a thread containing anecdotal evidence that the /played time was of questionable accuracy, but are you saying that playing on rested bonus in some way screws up your played time?

    I don't understand.

No what he is saying is this.

If you wait to play so that when you DO play all your toons will have full rested xp. It takes almost a week to get a full level of rested xp.

Now if you were to ONLY level on rested xp you could only play once a week and park them again. You would during those times level faster than normal... thus making your /played lower once you dinged 60 or 70.

If you were to level just normally but playing daily you will ding 60-70 faster IN REAL TIME not /played.

If you're always rested, and gain more XP per kill, you logically level faster than someone who isn't. It takes longer "real life time" as you're spending more time resting.

So while someone who played none-stop (no sleeping etc) could hit 70 in 1 week (RL time) or 7 days /played, someone constantly resting can only level up 1.5 levels each 5 days (max rested is 150%, which takes 120hrs to accumulate). It would take them a heck of alot longer, but they'd have a lower /played time by 70

This is not complicated. Check warcraftrealms.com for how long it took them.
I leveled in about 10.5 days /played and 6 weeks of actual time. So yeah, no rested bonus.

Ok, so this is about elapsed time vs. played time, not "actual played time" vs. "recorded played time", which is how I first read it.

That I understand, and yes it's obvious.
