Yamio is right. There was a period where I didn't play for almost two months. I didn't miss the game any, but it was starting to feel like a chore instead of a hobby, so I stopped for a while. It's been fun for a couple of months, but I'm going to have to stop again. My employment situation went into the crapper along with the economy. I was able to get up the money to start playing again, but I just found out that my retail job that I took for survival is cutting my hours down to nothing.Originally Posted by 'Yamio',index.php?page=Thread&postID=204093#post20 4093
So I'll be stopped again for a while.
The only advise I can give you, bigp3rm, is to figure out what caused you to stop in the first place and try to avoid it or do it differently. For the last few months, I've been playing the game more like a game and I've never enjoyed it more.

Can you go into detail? How did you play it differently? What made it a chore to you? What makes it fun now?Originally Posted by 'Basilikos',index.php?page=Thread&postID=204097#po st204097
The poetry that comes from the squaring off between,
And the circling is worth it,
Finding beauty in the dissonance
I've quit wow several times. And it always pulls me back. Twice I quit from raiding burnout (old 40-man days). Once I quit from sheer boredom (guild disband, friends stopped playing). Another time I was doing something against the TOS and got banned so I quit. Then I came back last spring on a fresh new account, following all the rules and have been happily playing since.
As others said, balance is important. I always crave to play the game but I don't always give in and play every chance I get. That keeps my interest up.
Recently it was dual-boxing that saved me, I was bored of the 10-man raiding on my 80 hunter, my 80 alliance rogue's guild fell apart, was temporarily playing a 66 alliance priest in that guild even though I was the only one online ever, was about to quit then decided to try dual-boxing since I happened to already own two accounts (WotLK and TBC).
Now I'm totally hooked into the game again with the dual-boxing thing. I don't even sign up for my guild's raids, I chat with them on vent while they're raiding but I'm off playing my two lowbies as a boxer![]()
I quit (took a break) for a couple of month. I activated 2/5 of my accounts a few weeks ago. I play about 3 hours a week now and will likely just cancel the subscription due to lack of interest in the game.

For me, it came down to, "I HAVE to get these things done ASAP!!!" or, "I HAVE to keep up with other multiboxers!!!" Now, I'm playing more like I WANT to do things. It's the difference between forcing yourself to do something in the game as opposed to letting yourself enjoy it and do it as you get to it. Besides, my progress is better this way. I've still got goals, but I'm not beating myself up if they don't get done right this second.Originally Posted by 'd0z3rr',index.php?page=Thread&postID=204190#post2 04190
If that's still too hazy, my apologies. I'll try to communicate a little better.
