    Default Mage Talent Question

Does anyone know if the mana regen from Arcane Meditation stacks with the mana regen in Pyromaniac? I am considering the build below, but if the two don't stack, I'll reinvest the points in the fire tree. Just curious if anyone has tried this yet.

According to this post http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...73618401&sid=1 they do stack, but they seem to be frowning upon it in favor of taking torment the weak instead.

Interesting. I'd need to play around with rotations to make sure my target is slowed or snared to maximize torment. It seems like that talent was made to really complement the frost tree. Thanks for the confirmation.

The arcane tree also has Slow, which also works with Torment of the Weak. Although bosses can't be slowed in any way, you can still throw the spell on them to just gain the benefit of extra damage. Improves DPS a bit, but needs to be re-applied a lot, only lasts 15s. Makes a mana inefficient class even more so while doing it, but nice when you're trying to squeeze out all the DPS you can in the least amount of time without regard to mana use (should only be used on boss fights or caster trash).

Attack speed slows (thunderclap, infected wounds, etc) count towards TTW as well, so there should always be a slow up on bosses (Paladins and DKs have one too.)

if your runing a dk you have no worries as the Dk will always have ice touch up. with paladins its judgement of justice and imo its not worth swoping from judge of wisdon.

It's a talent in the prot tree that causes all judgements to slow. Justice doesn't slow, it just stops speed boosts from working.(unless it changed from last I checked)

The Judgements of the Just talent on Paladins. Wasn't aware that also counted as a snare type of effect as well, but makes sense now that I think about it (sort of).

It doesn't make much sense for both Arcane and Frost mages to go without getting the Torment of the Weak talent, since it's both easy for the Arcane mage (you are already at least that high in the tree) and Frost is constantly applying their own snares so it's always in effect (except perhaps the very first hit). My opinion is that fire should get it as well, because you probably want to get that far anyways for the Arcane Meditation, use Flame Armor all the time (crit buff), and just grab Glyph of Mana Gem if you still need to suppliment more regen. Plus, there's talents the whole way up there that help all three classes (occasional mana-free cast, more damage, more crit, etc).

I just respecced last night before our raid to Arcane/Frost with Icy Veins, and Torment of the weak, and my DPS went way up. I highly recommend torment of the weak. In a raid, there is a near guarantee that there will be a qualifying snare effect on just about every mob, and definately on bosses.

Thanks everyone for the input. I wasn't even thinking about the DK snares. I have desecration up nearly 100% of the time. Torment the Weak should work well for me.
