Default Leveling a 5 class team

My team is going to consist of a prot pally, boomkin, lock, ele sham, and holy priest so would I be better off running instances to get from 60 to 80 or do a good mix or just straight questing? My main goal is to run heroics so I thought learning to play the classes would be best starting running instances for sure at 70 but what do all of you think about that?

Right now I'm just working on getting as many toons to 60 before my RAF runs out that I can. But once I'm done i'm planning on leveling them in instances. I hate the quests in this game and the dungeon practice will be nice. Plus at 80 in northrend i can go back and do the quests I skipped and get twice the gold for them.

60-68: just quest in Outland, skipping all the collection quests. It is very fast now.

68 - 80 is going to be a pain.. do instances with rested XP, quests otherwise. I am afraid you will have to do some collection quests.

To answer the OP, I suggest just questing, it goes by pretty quick, even while doing most collection quests.

I wouldn't just stop questing in Outlands just because you hit 68 and can start in Northrend. There's still plenty of fast quests in BEM, Shadowmoon Valley, and Netherstorm that you get 10-12k xps for (Northrend starts around 15k per quest). My preference is to exhaust Outlands before moving on, though you could do a dozen or so starter quests in Northrend for the weapon upgrades and a few other items before heading back to Outlands.

Exhausting Outlands, I usually end up somewhere around level 72.5 with only those dozen or so quests already done in Northrend. It slows my progression down a bit, but I tend to hit 80 with about 3.5-4 zones untouched, just waiting to be harvested for the gold boost.

People argue both ways, but it comes down to how you want to proceed. If you want faster levels, head to Northrend earlier. If you want to reap more gold at the end, then hang in Outlands longer.

Side note: You may have to go back to some Outlands quests anyways if you even care about achievements and events. But that had no influence on why I chose that route.

I would quest but thats me, i cleared all instances before i hit 80 on my first team.(well not the oculus) My second team wich i just quested with went faster and earned more gold.

Unless your an achivment freak DONT DO THE MOJO QUEST IN GRIZZLY HILLS!!!

The fastest way is to only do kill quests in outlands and go directly to northernend at 68 and keep on questing.

If you still plan to do instances in northernend start early to look for cheap tank items on AH. Having a well geared tank makes most non heroic instances easy mode.

It depends on your goals, but race to 80 and farming few lvl80 heroics can be boring soon. If you care about levels, dungeons can be slow. There are really nice instances between 60-80 where you can master your skills and after each full clear you can feel small victory, something that won't happen with just questing. Also you can do the dungeon quests for more exp and rewards.

I've got the same class setup as you and I love their awesome synergy. I enjoy the slow leveling in instances, learning to control the team in every situation and gathering rare loot. Just finished BRD and the two months with them were great fun until now.
