Default What char is best for boosting?

I have seen alot of people use Prot palis to Boost exp other Linked Raf Accounts, Im going to start leveling up a char so that I can boost as well, BUT i dont know which choise would be prime.

    What do you think?

If you have nothing to start with a DK is good because you start at 55, so get into legit boosting territory faster.

Overall a prot pally I think is best, but that is what I use. But I can easily boost through every instance up to UK - I haven't tried higher. Though at that level my little guys are helping some.

Really any level 80 should be able to boot at least through SM and probably Strat. So if you have a toon at 80, use that instead of leveling something new. You could include a prot pally in the first group of toons to have one eventually use.

One nice thing about the prot pally is he can heal and cleanse himself. Also hand of freedom is great. If you boost the instances that are normally used, SFK->SM->Strat having the pally is really nice. I have boosted with a blood dk and it made SFK and SM really fast. So fast I was always hitting the instance limit which gave me time to learn new skills or hearth and get my mounts and what not. With the pally it was a little slower but it was well paced so I never really hit the limit.

In Strat I could pull whole sections with my pally. I had to make smaller pulls with my DK but it still felt faster.

Edit: i just favor my pally a little more cuz he is a one stop shop and feels a little more controlled. Heal, rez, bubbles.

I do 10-45 with an 80 frost mage 3 pull sfk, single pull armory and cath, you'd probably be better off doing the lower levels with a lower boost char for more xp though.
45-60 with an 80 blood DK in scholo clearing to before the whelps.
61-66,67 I boost in Ramparts with the DK then pretty much quest the rest of the way.

    1-60 Takes 8-10hrs with RAF.

I just dont understand how people are getting to 60 in 8-10 hours. I PL all day. log out near the zone in to the next set of levling instances. Closest i've come is like 17 hours played.

    I use a prot pally, I do DM 10-15, Stocks 15-25, 25-45 SM, 45 - 55 Ud strat

I pretty much 1 pull sm and atleast 4-5 groups at a time in Ud strat. So its not like my strategy is slow. Either someone is exaggerating or i'm missing something.

i've used a 70 warlock for boosting through dungenos below ZF and I usually just start play the team after that.
boosting isn't what it used to be... they kind of nerfed it, it's really nerfed if you aren't using RAF.

I can't say 8-10 hours is impossible but you have to be hitting the instance caps at that point. Maybe mix in some instance quests and it's probably possible. My personal experience was a little over 15hrs. looting only a couple items in SM. 1-2 random bosses in stratholme. Skul and Hearthglen or whatever NPC if they are in my path. That also was the group that I did not bother to get any skills on until they hit 60.

My first set I got to 60 took 10hrs and that included screwing around with macros (admittedly only follow macros, boostees contributed nothing on the runs), also includes screwing around at the end trying to get my last account (which missed some xp somewhere along the way) to 60 first ahead of everything else in the chain so I could grant to 60.9999. I waited too long to start working on this (doing quests only on the last char) and the ones I wanted to grant to were sitting at 59.98 or something, I would have dinged them from exploration xp. Last half of a level for the last char was done without RAF bonus (excluding quest turnins where I logged another raf back in for the turnin)

I didn't take the time to pick up every mob in the instance just grabbed what was handy. In both sfk and sm I was hitting the reset timer in about 25-30 minutes. Scholo took long enough to not run into the timer. I don't think I ever logged in a town and it was done over 2-3 days realtime. Currently sitting at 68 with 1 day 13hrs on this set.

I kinda liked running into the timer, grinding instances is pretty tedious, but I'd grind all day if I didn't get locked out and probably burnout in even less time than normal.

    I think it took me:

1.5 hrs for level 1-10 questing (just the lowbies themselves)
about 4-5 hours for 10-34 (70 mage boosting in instances on one evening) Deadmines -> Stockades -> RFK -> RFD
about 4-5 hours more for 34-48 (70 mage boosting more on the next evening) ZF -- and got 2 x Sul'thraze the Lasher!
then about 2-3 hours to wrap up around 54 (70 mage boosting the last evening) ST
then last levels I quested as it was too much for a 70 mage to boost very efficiently, mostly did Felwood and Un'Goro Crater

That's about 11.5-14.5 hours for a level 70 to boost from 1-54. This was before Lich, around last September. My mage now does at least twice the damage, and could probably boost a little higher than 54 now, if not right to 60. So I guess I can see 8-10 hours being feasible, spending little time looting and just charging through instances, run straight out and reset to do again.
