Default Stuck at 67.5, can't seem to motivate myself

My 5xShaman team is questing in Netherstorm until 68, but I just seem to have hit a wall. It's not that I can't find quests, it's that I just don't find myself wanting to play. Part of it is that the weather's been great and I've been getting outside more, but I'm also kind of sick of Outland. I just have half a level to go until Northrend, what's a fun way to fill that up? I tried instances, but with no tank there was rather a lot of dying. Can anyone recommend some particularly interesting/easy quests or a good strategy for 5xShamans not dying in instances? None of my tanking alts are above level 60.

If you're dying in instances now, it's gonna be much worse in Northrend instances. Non heroic mobs hit much harder up there. If you want to level through instancing, get your tank up there ASAP or just quest to 80. I'm usually still in Nagrand till 68, but depending on your speed, sounds like you're probably done with that by now. Let em get rest xp, get some whiskey and a movie, and slog it out in Netherstorm. :/ Shouldn't take you more than a few hours.

As for your lack of motivation to play, you do realize this is a hobby. You can log off whenever you want and go out and enjoy the weather. The beauty of multiboxing is you can put it down. Your characters will wait for you to return. You're not in a raid guild or leveling with RL friends - people who sort of "depend" on you to be there, log on and play for hours even when you don't want to. Boxing frees you up to play on your own terms and nobody in RL suffers.

No, I'm definitely staying out of instances in Northrend until I get a tank leveled up. I think I'll be fine with questing in northrend, it's just that I spent a while before I began boxing getting close to Loremaster of Outland on my main, and I'm just tired of the place.

At that level you could run Underbog to the first boss and repeat. I did that and it still gave great xp at level 69. Took me about 20 min a run. If all you want is half a level, I think you could get that last bit in an hour, or hour and a half tops with rested. All the pulls are nice groups of 3 mobs and stuff so you should tear things up with chain lightning etc. I dont recall them hitting very hard and none of them cast or do anything special. All just tank and spank.

I agree with Starbuck. Just sing out the last few bits of XP in a lower instance. Should be very doable. Btw, I don`t want to sound negetieve but WOTLK isn`t multibox friendly, copmpaired tho wotlk, the outlands are a breeze. If you hit a wall now I can tell you that wotlk will hit you with walls from all sides

What instances are you struggling with?

I am 67 now and I run all instances comfortably up to and including Crypts with my 5x Shaman. You have 5 earth elementals to deal with the tougher bosses.

oh man dude, lvl 67 with my 5 shamans was the most fun i've had in wow so far ... I burned through all my rested xp in instances so fast I couldn't keep up =)

I ran underbog, slave-pens and mana-tombs over and over from lvl 65-68 and it was so easy. Basic strategy was to LB the first of a 3 group, and immediately follow up with a CL, then 1 more LB and the first guy was dead. The rest of the group would have just arrived and I would thunderstrom them away and CL + LB another one. When they got close the 2nd time, i would earthbind them just out of range and and LB or CL again and the 2nd guy was dead, then thunderstorm and repeat. You can clear groups 6+ fast and easy that way ... my guys had somewhere around 450sp each i think.

For boss fights, i would throw 1 or 2 earth elementals down and full on DPS the boss and heal the elemental - he would hold aggro the whole fight. Tougher bosses got 2 or 3 elementals. My shamans are 70 now and I'm able to clear up to the prince in UK, but have only tried him once so far (got him down to 33% but didn't heal my elementals), but I believe is totally do-able. I was actually able to clear up to the boss in UK at lvl 68 but had to blow 1 elemental for each drake fight.

I totally recommend burning your xp by running lower level instances, but like thinus says, they are good enough to run almost all instances. I bet I could have done steamvaults at 67 ... good times. You obviously need a shield equipped in your off-hand to be able to survive in instances - just in case it skipped your mind =)

Forgot to mention - have you done ring of blood? Get someone to help you tank it, and get that mace for your shamans. That quest line has great xp and $$, and a good reward for a short time investment.

the ring of blood is good for the XP and cash, but if you are just 0.5 of a level from Northrend the mace is not worth it, as it will be replaced by a better one from the first kill quest in BT (better off with the axe and selling/enchanting it)

I confess that I do occasionally get the "arrggh... I should have gotten a couple of levels on my XYZ team today instead of watching three movies back-to-back" stress, but this says it all:

You're not in a raid guild or leveling with RL friends - people who sort of "depend" on you to be there, log on and play for hours even when you don't want to. Boxing frees you up to play on your own terms and nobody in RL suffers.
That sums up exactly what I love about multiboxing, and if you'd rather be out enjoying the good weather than grinding through the Outland quests for the 400th time, I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing

If you're stressed about not being able to do instances then you've got enough advice in this thread to get you going through that and you can always grind out "green" instances if that floats your boat. It's good practice for team control anyway to be honest, and you'll need plenty of that in Northrend.

I brushed my shammies off for their grind from 70 to 80 yesterday too, and just ran through Slave Pens a few times to get myself back into the swing of things. It was a blast to be honest, although it took me nearly 4 hours of doing that to get things working exactly how I wanted them to!

Nothing wrong with not feeling like playing. Go see a movie. Read a book. Watch TV. Hang out with friends.

Too much of anything will burn anyone out.
